Shouldn't the owner read the owners manual? I agree that somebody at a dealer should have been able to answer his question, but we aren't privy to the conversation he had. If everyone that owns anything with an engine would skip a repeat of Duck Dynasty and read the manual that came with it...

Re: sled KBB puts average trade for a 2006 Apex at $2970, so the dealer was quoting you right. Retail for one in A+ condition is a tad over $4k if you wanna sell it yourself.

A number will be displayed on the meter when you turn the key on, or in some cases while cranking.

If the check engine light is flashing while cranking there is a code being displayed. The ecu will not store an unrepaired code so you cannot look it up in diag mode.

Aftermarket companies do not have to worry themselves with meeting emmisions requirements thus they can make an exhaust that makes more power. DI isn't well suited for small, high revving, multi-valved four stroke engines.
