Same issue with my viper, battery was junk, it didn't last the year and Yamaha does not cover it after storage.

Always used the yama lube in mine didn't care about the cost, one suggestion see if there are any recalls or bulletins on the fuel lines, mine burnt last year and I found out afterward there was a bulletin out for them.

Had and 08 apex and a 08 phazer. the power loss from one to the other is huge. If you love power then stick with the RX1 if you love powder then trade. I got the phazer for my wife but I enjoy ditch banging with it every so often!!! On the lake I love to be first!!!
