    Reverse Testing

Well the preliminary answer is it was the chain tension - looks like I dodged a bullet. I may wait to get into the chain case till after the season ends. As a side note I changed my clutching (upbushman secondary) and added a Hindle can. Definitely delivering more power to the track, may have...

Mooseman, will do, thanks for the tips. Will keep you posted on progress (positive or negative).

    Reverse Testing

Unfortunately that is exactly what mine sounds like. Hopefully I will get into it this weekend to at least find the problem. This may be turning into a summer fix. A bit frustrated as I have Mtn Tec Running boards (a great product) and the Hindle exhaust (also really sweet) and Floats up...

    Reverse Testing

I am doing a whole lot more than hoping! It was my first thought, but like I said have not had time to look - running a backup sled for now.

Not the track, tried that. Have not had time to get into the chain case, that was going to be next.

Mooseman, was your issue a rapid ratcheting under power - with no power to the track? I barely got home last week. Wondering where to start the tear down. I am right at 5000 miles (07 FX).

    Phazer gas mileage

So, I have changed out the clutching and the belt - now if I get some snow I will report back on the difference in mileage.

With gear pushing 230 lbs. Local fuel is 93 octane with ethanol crap in it.

    Phazer gas mileage

Not so sure it is just talk, many get good mileage, and on groomed trails I do as well. But pushing snow over the front end all day takes a toll. I am putting on a larger float plate to see if that helps.

    Phazer gas mileage

Stretched out to 136, doing some skid and clutch work before the season - new wheels for one thing. But I see between 8 and 10 mpg. zero groomed trails, heavy snow, working it pretty hard. I was seeing 15 on hard pack.

    Spindle Removal

There was a discussion on powder coating the spindles, might have been on the Nitro page. There were concerns with the heat necessary and the impact on the casting. You might want to look into that before you head that way. I have the JRE spindles, but have not as yet mounted them on. Too...

    07 Phazer Summer Storage

Chubby, what is your process for fogging the 4-stroke? Any hard start issues later? I have lots to do this spring, including a few upgrades, redo a shot suspension, running boards, rear bumper,... Unfortunately trying to get it all done at once makes credit card alarms go off for the...

    Heated Grips

Interesting video. I don't have the sled here to look into it now. Probably next week before I can get to it. I actually stopped a few times last ride to cycle the control, it would just not shut down. I guess the first thing is to check all the wiring and ground connections,

    Heated Grips

Yep, the bars move, I go to "off", no bars. Still wants to blister my thumb thru the glove. Thinking abut heavier gloves. It is looking like a summer of sled maintenance for me, looking forward to it all. But the grips and thumb are high on the list.

    Heated Grips

This is all good stuff, my right grip is out, so I will be running all the tips above. But I have an added wrinkle. I cannot turn off the thumb warmer, hard to stay in the throttle when it burns you up! Any ideas, related to the grip issue? Eric
