My son in law just got our rage back together, thanks for advice given on here and he bought a manual to be sure. He's not in a hurry to do another one,but we have another one. plowking
We took out the tensioner on one of our rages, ther was a noise like the cam may have rolled and something clicked. Are we in trouble and do we have to take the valve cover off to retime the engine, haven't put the new tensioner back in yet. Thought it was just a swap to new tensioner,I guess not...
Hi,medic944.I was able to open the file. Thanks a lot. Im going to give this info to my son-in-law for his sleds. I stopped at a new Yamaha dealer recently. If Yamaha decides to make good, I'll be happy. My warranty is good til March 2010. plowking
Sounds like a good idea, especially the fittings on the a-arms. Can you tap and install a fitting for the line at block? I don't have access to a machine shop. Could you use a rubber hose instead of brake line or willl heat be a problem. I can get hose extensions that are made to screw into...
I have to be carefull of belt wear on my rage. It is easy to smoke the belt loading it on the trailer. I can also smell it on steep descents on trails. Have to check my belt deflection. I believe there are vents you can install to get ride of underhood heat. The three washers behind the bolts on...
I hope we can get this resolved. I and my daughter have 06 rages, low miles. My friend has one as well. Every dealer you ask seems to have different info. My dealer no longer sells Yamaha,I have to find another. I can't be worrying about having engine trouble on a newer sled. I still have my...
Ditto on the riveted hyfax onto current protectors, we did the same thing after our sleds all got gouges on rear exchangers. Studs could get close or knick the exhaust if track is run loose. plowking
I think the seat gets heated by the muffler underneath. Mine gets HOT! I've had the snow melt off and have to get off after a long ride or I'm afraid of getting burns. I don't think I have any shields missing as I never took seat apart. plowking
You want to check the distance from tunnel protectors at rear heat exchanger. We nicked our exchangers last season on our Rages, especially on the softer settings. There should be an update for it. We riveted sections of hyfax to our protectors at exchangers, works so far. The muffler can be close...
Tightening the limiter straps to put more down pressure on sled should help with the skilift. We are tightening ours by one notch and trying it. plowking
Usually ,I find the bolts in the suspensions of sleds I had, there was a threadlocker on the threads usually blue. You might have to use threadlocker on that bolt [ nut] to keep it from loosening, I'm in process of adjusting my mono-shock suspension as well. plowking
Our Rages and Attak haven't done that yet. How loose do you run your track? I suppose it could ballon up if there is extra play in track. We added hyfax to ours in the back. I wasn't aware of the front,I'll keep that in mind. Thanks, plowking
Sorry ,I'm a couple days late posting, been out plowin' SNOW! Our 06 Rages and a 07 Attak had to have hyfax added. Don't know about the 07. Our 06 has a pair of square tubes rived to tunnel, with no provisions to slide hyfax in a slot like other sleds. Maybe take some measurements and we can...
