This is on a LTX SE...
I don't have mpg numbers, but it wasn't as good as my wife's vector, althouth I rode harder. 2-3 gallons more for the viper on a full tank, and that's the difference in tank size.
Changed my hyfax to duponts after 2700 miles. They wore to the line and the bend in...
I've been out to that area several times. Hopefully riding some day. Drive from NY to Denver then head south at Glenwood Springs through Carbondale, Paonia, to Hotchkiss. Then into the West Elk Wilderness. Beautiful area.
I added the heated element and switch found on the viper to my wife's vector. Works great (she's extremely happy) and looks great. The element is seperate from the cover, so you don't have to put the new cover on. The kit comes with everything needed....seat cover, element, switch, and...
Ran the 8dn today for 70 miles. Conditions were quite different from last weekend, so it was difficult to make a good comparison. Overall the sled seemed more consistant. Still pulling 8900 to 9000, but not getting in to the rev limiter nearly as much. Engagement felt good. Clutching is...
Interesting discussion on the belt. I may have to give this a try.
My experience on the viper has been that I can hit the rev limiter from a 30mph roll on when on hard pack. Rpms then settle down to around 8900. Completely stock clutching. Sled is quick to 80, and I haven't done much of...
I never had a problem with the cold, just didn't like the stock shield with the wings and I couldn't see my ski tips as well as I liked.
Solution- trim the stock shield and paint white. I used krylon x2 and put a couple coats on. Riding yesterday I had a few branches hit it without...
shouldn't be any issues in adding the heater. I put a viper heating element and switch on my wife's vector. Reused the stock cover and couldn't be happier with the results. Looks stock and works excellent.
It is warm and rainy here and I got tired on sitting on my sled making engine noises.
Cut the 'wings' off the stock wind screen and painted it white. Next time my hood comes off I'll probably paint the radiator cover too.
Another coat of paint or two and reapply the rubber edging.
I got 8 wheels, 6 stock, and 2 on my own extra wheel 'kit'.
After about 60 miles today, everything worked great. Conditions were somewhat low snow, but I wouldn't consider it marginal. My last set of slides needed to be changed before 600 miles in decent conditions. It's still early to...
I got my wheels put on the xtx yesterday along with new slides and will be going out riding shortly. They look to be better made than the Yamaha wheels. I'll let everyone know how it goes after some miles today and tomorrow.
never heard of using meth and n2o on a turbo. I know guys use n2o instead of meth, but no one in sled application. I did some research on using n2o when I had my supercharger to keep the charge temps down, never put anything together though.
Idle is correct and engagement is correct. I have not run across the yard yet, but even then I doubt I would be able to read peak rpm in the short distance. Need at least a little snow before I know for sure.
