I haven't blown the main belt but I have blown the secondary belt under the intercooler. It went after 800 miles because I wasn't aware that the tension is adjustable on this one. Found that out when I called MPI to find out how to get the new belt on. For those that are in the dark like I was...
I haven't tried MPI's extroverts but have purchased several other items from them (Supercharger, 162" track and ext kit, a-arms, transfer enhancement kit etc.....) with no issues.

The powder will slow you down quite a bit. Stock '03 clutching on the RX-1mtn was good for about 94 MPH on groomed trails but dropped off alot in fresh/deep powder. A set of Holtzman Engineering carb springs are a thing to add in addition to clutching. I ran the red springs at at elevations...

You don't have to remove the sway bar. If you want to see how it handles; just take one bolt out of the linkage going to an A-arm. If you don't like the handeling just put the ok in. I lost a bolt and didn't even notice a difference on the trail with my RX-1mtn but it had Simmons Qen 1s from the...

Do you run the MPI transfer Enhancment kit and did you cut out 1.5 inches on the two bars that go parallel to the rear shock from the top down to the FRA?
Thats what I did to eliminate the soft ride. I also changed the location of where the rear scissor mounts just ahead of my rail...
How many miles were on the sled when the chain let loose? Just wondering if I should look @ changing mine before it breaks (especially since I have the Stage 1 MPI SC). My chain looked good and still had about 3/4" of ajustment left on the tensioner when I pulled the cover last summer...
You guys just need to move closer to the mountains. Cooke City, MT 9where i usually ride is sitting @ 62" (low for them this time of year). Here in Billings, MT we have actually seen more snow in the last two weeks than all of last year. I'm still not riding though because I'm trying to recoup...
You guys have all missed the point on why fuel prices are on the rise here in the US . I work at the ConocoPhillips refinery here in Billings, Montana and have read alot of insider stuff sent out by our CEO (Jim Mulva)on our corporate web site. There are many factors that have caused this...
I searched to see if anybody has posted about this and didn't see anything. I looks like Doug Henry(former Yamaha factory rider/pioneer of 4-strokes in MX) will be racing a Yamaha 4-stroke sled @ this years Winter X Games in the inaugural event called "Addaptive SnoCross".
It should be cool...
I too have shreaded that belt (the primary belt from motor to jackshaft is still perfect though). Your belt was probably loose (I assume you were un-aware as I was of the belt's adjustability) and jumped over the teeth as boost climbed and eventually it shreaded.
I don't know if you MPI SC...
