So I haven't posted in a while. But thought this would be amusing while we all wait for snow.
....still have my Nytro. I've said it many times... no reason to change it out. The new front end is a bomb and it's still a riot to ride. Power is really good...not as good as my 800 E-Tec...
Thanks Sevey:
I'll take a look at the BCA mount as well. I normally keep my shovel in my backpack (and definitely would if in avy terrain), but for work sometimes it's nice to ditch the shovel out of the pack and lash to tunnel

Hey McKinney
Seeing Nikolai's parts list, I remember most of us that did the conversion had bending issues with the front skid shock lower cross shaft (the one that goes between the rails. Some of the M's came with an aluminum cross shaft which bent easily on hard hits. I had an aluminum one...
Nikolai....
Well that's too funny:
On my timbersled 153....powerclaw 153..
Driveshaft to front arm c to c is 10.5". I'm 10.5 because I use 7 tooth drivers whereas cat (and u) use 8, so I needed a bit more setback to make the skid fit the "hyfax to driver" line. I could move have easily gone...
Guys:
Another thing to check is your clip spacing. I have an arctic cat power claw 2.25 on my Nytro MTX. It was a notoriously bad vibrating track when first installed. I checked alignment, clipped every cleat and it still vibrated excessively. I finally checked the clip spacing and found...
X2 Grizz, there is a one way clutch in there, and not a solenoid, to engage the starter motor.
Most likely your starter either has a broken magnet, worn out brushes or a bad section on the armature (more likely the latter). Since the brushes contact many armature sections in one rotation you...
Wow! Thanks SD.. I didn't even know filter relocate kits existed...so the obvious question is...who has a kit to fit a Nytro? M20x1.5 thread and 71mm OD. Should be easy enough to find something.... maybe...
Here's one that looks right...
Maybe stupid question, but is there anywhere else on that engine you could tap oil pressure and return it to the sump? You know how much I hate the oil filter location but I keep thinking there's got to be oil pressure somewhere in that block you could use to eliminate THAT filter location and...
Why did they abandon the Nytro chassis again?????
I think there is enough development happening on TY to keep it "new" for a long time. Too bad no one at Yami ever listened.
Awesome Job Melmaq...loving the narrow panels. Snap a few more pic's of those when you get a chance.

The complex steering on the G4 is mostly because the Left and Right A-Arms are far apart (on either side of new bulkhead). On the older Rev's, the left and right side a-arms were very close together (as anyone with the GNR brace kit knows!!!). Not necessary on the Nytro cause the a-arms are...

I'm in Bathurst and have a set of Skinz A-Arms off my 2011 MTX. They are 4.5" forward and 39" stance. I switched to a custom front end so don't need them anymore. PM me if interested.
Also, seems to me the XTX and MTX have the same a-arms after 2010. I know the first MTX's in 2008/09...
Wow....Melmaq....that's WAY WAY out of the box thinking!
So yeah the doo side panels is a great way to narrow up and going for the Cat spindles..... very cool.
I'll be interested so see how you relocated the upper shock mounts and got the plastics to fit....
Very cool

That combo (header, K&N, fuel controller, clutch kit) nets you up to 145hp and a big gain on torque everywhere. I've been running this combo for 4 years and I like it. It's not a turbo, but its a step in the right direction. I won't go turbo because I'm at sea level and don't want the 50lb...
Good news me thinks.....
I've been saying for years that Yami's Japanese snowmobile manufacturing was doomed due to the high value of the Yen. Better to do it here where the majority of the market is and you can do it competitively. Engines are different. They'll stay in Japan as Yami's...
Wow.....had no idea the Apex starter was forward!!! Explains a lot when riding those two sleds. BTW.... still think you're crazy attempting this build but that's what the fun is all about. These old sleds are simply templates....maybe 70% complete....you just add mods to make it 100% ur sled...
Kinger:
I really like ur thinking. The biggest issue with heavy front ends on Nytro/Viper is the inability to move the engine any closer to the drive sprockets due to cooler and electric starter motor so mass centering is rather limited. Getting rid of the cooler improves this and also allows...
Yeah agreed.... a turbo is PULL.....no N/A will do the same.
That said, the Nytro in N/A trim is much improved with better breathing and improved fuel mapping. I have the excell/k&n/PC5/Ulmer clutch and I don't really care how much "extra HP" it makes up top. What I can say is that it pulls...
