Those 12 turbo Cats! What a piece of junk! That's what the guy riding an Apex said when I blew by him with my pos with the original belt and 1500miles and no issues!!!! Oh sorry, thumbwarmer had to be changed. What a piece of junk! Unlike my 08 Nytro that was perfect and only needed $2k put in...
I have to laugh at all the "diehards" who are threatening to jump to doo. On the Cat websites they are saying the same thing. .. Just tooooo funny.
News to anyone that thinks their present Nytro handles as well as all the other brands.... Your dreaming or looking at the world with rose coloured...
I think what we're seeing here is the result of 2 companies in somewhat desperate positions. One in need of updated chassis and suspensions and another facing the prospects of having no engines in the very near future.
I just hope what we're going to see is some technology sharing and not...
I guess the price of one $200 spare belt makes up for the cost of having to buy new BRP pilot skis on a$12000 sled to be able to steer the fringen thing. Add the doo wheels and all the aftermarket stuff that has to be put on a Nytro, and a case could be made that a rebranded sled has already...
How long did you ride and what are you riding now? First time I rode mine I was impressed with handling and speechless about the deep powder performance. No Nytro arm-pump was also a nice bonus for my beat-up old body. :sled1:
Sorry but I'll take my "big ugly a-arms and spindles" over a poor handling Nytro anyday, anytime. My Turbo has same belt after 1000miles, hasn't caught fire and has original slides and skis. I wanted to blow up my Nytro after the same period.
Having said that, a Nytro motor in this chassis no...
A salesman at a local Yamaha dealer told me this week that he it on good authority( :drink: ) that Yamaha has had engineers working at Thief River Falls for over 2 years. Take that for what its worth.
Just a note to the Procross bashers out there. Have you ever ridden one? I have 1000 miles...
Sorry, I can see this is going nowhere so I'll retire to the cheap seats.
By the way I've always stated that quality of build in the Yamaha is far superior to everyone. Can't understand why a $15000 sled has a skidframe 20yrs behind and 50lbs heavier than the competition.
The very fact that...
So let me get this straight. Doo, Poo and Cat sleds are all junk and all of us that jumped ship in the last 3 years don't have any idea a good sled is.
To me, a good sled is much more than a great engine. I know some will say go back to dootalk or Catchat but when I came back to Yamaha 6yrs...
I sure hope something happens soon I can't stand the suspense! The rumoured Cat/Yamaha deal could be worse. It could be Ski-doo/ Yamaha!....LOL. :sled1: :sled1:
I have to say of all sleds I've owed, my Phaser was the most fun! Easy to ride, good on fuel, just lacking in power and being a little on the ugly side ;)! it's only downfall.
