    Ski toe out and shims

Something that I learned off of this forum is theres a handle bar alignment hole which locks your steering perfectly straight. Remove the lower front plastic piece under the radiator and grab a fat phillips head screwdriver like a P3 and jam it thru the holes in the frame and steering to find...

Full Throttle – Engine Shutoff Due to No Oil

Thanks for the replies guys. Glad to hear that this is happened to other folks without serious issues. At the moment everything seems fine with the motor so I'm just going to put it away for next season and hope for the best. Dealer that looked at it as well also had the same response that...

Full Throttle – Engine Shutoff Due to No Oil

Well I had an unfortunate accident with my sled that broke my back and took me out for the season. I’m healing and getting better and my ego/pride is hurt pretty bad. I’ve been sledding for 25 years and had a slow speed whoopsie daisy. The damage to the sled is a couple of broken plastic...

Looking for help figuring out where these parts go parts?

I tore my sled down in the spring and replaced the tunnel due to a crash. I've got it all back together several months later and have some leftover parts I'm worried about. I just have no idea where these go or if they are important. Looking for some help. They have bolt hole marks, appear...

    MTX tunnel cooler pipe/tube

Hope these instructions help... I put 3 pages from the manual up there for you guys to see.

    MTX tunnel cooler pipe/tube

The tube is for burping the air out of the cooling system. As you fill the system with coolant you need to remove the hose clamp (item #10) & then the rubber cap (item #9) on the nipple until coolant flows out (removing the trapped air) then put the rubber cap and hose clamp back on and...

    Secondary Clutch Bearing Change Out

Once the chain case is disassembled and you remove the two bolts on the secondary side then the shaft slides right out (with the bearing & bearing holder). The shaft and bearings on the chain case side are not pressed on. The bearing is pressed onto the secondary clutch side. So you keep the...

    Secondary Clutch Bearing Change Out

Once you complete all the steps listed above by Sevey the bearing is pressed onto the shaft. You'll need a hydraulic press to get it off of the shaft and press to get the new one back on. You'll also require some various sized washers and spacers to make sure you press on the races of the...

08 Nytro lost power and speedometer reading zero

No the sled will only idle nice as soon as you give it throttle and get above clutch engagement rpm it will bog out. It is not rideable. As a work around I purchased an apex speed sensor cause they didn't have a nytro one in stock. That was 4 years ago and 9,000 miles ago.

08 Nytro lost power and speedometer reading zero

That same issue happened to me. The lower driveshaft bearing failed and took out the speed sensor when it happened. Sled will idle fine, but won't run when you throttle it up. The engine computer goes into a safety mode when this sensor isn't working and therefore won't run above idle.

Front heat exchanger, hard to remove?

I just got finished replacing my front heat exchanger. That was quite a large job. The right side engine bulkhead plate needs to be removed to replace the heat exchanger. The motor can stay in the sled, but the front subframe, steering post, seat, fuel tank, suspension, track, oil can...

    installing OFT steering relocator

Keep in mind one of the steering jam nuts have left handed threads. I forget which one, but one of them does so you have to tighten it to loosen it.

    Dupont slides or wheels

On my XTX I changed the sliders every season roughly 2,000 miles a year. I burned up a set of hyfax mid-season one year and so I put the excel wheels on and currently have 6,000 miles with the yamaha sliders. I would recommend fully clipping the track cause the duponts I've read in the...

    Exhaust poping

I had a broken flex tube (bellows) from the engine to the exhaust tube. I could of swore it was my exhaust donuts, but I have the copper ones. It sounded just like when my exhaust donuts were going when I had the lead yammi ones in there. I would check that as well...

    Nytro Coolant Question

The blue coolant is called "engine ice" a high performance coolant. You can buy it at most dealers for $40 gallon… I wouldn't mix any green coolant with it.

2009 XTX bar risers & rear suspension setup

I have the OFT and a 2" or 2.5"lake effect riser with no cable extensions. I did have to re-route the throttle cable and mess around with the wiring a little, but wasn't a big deal. I would say that is about as tall as you could go without the throttle cable extension. I am 5' 9" and it fits...

2009 Nytro XTX, what's the best replacement rear shock

I just had the same issue. My sled had 9,300 miles on it when it happened. I looked and called around. I sent mine out to Schmidt Brothers Racing I have them rebuilding and revalving the center shock and I am getting a Fox Zero Pro for the rear. They had all the parts in stock and are...
