I have a 2008 RTX and it is sitting on roller wheels but when I push down on the rear bumper, the skid goes down like it should but then when I let go, it returns a little way but not all the way. I then have to pull it back up. Both of my RTX's do this and one has a shock that was brand new...
The rest of the sled was sold about 2 years ago. These came with the sled when we originally bought it and were told that they upgraded the shocks for the reason that Ding mentioned above.
i have four shocks that came off of a 2002 Yamaha viper. I believe this sled has 4 shocks. They have about 500 miles on them. They have been sitting in the loft of our garage for about 6 years. If I were to sell them, what would they roughly be worth?
I have a 2008 Nytro that is going on starter number 3 after 2 years. Any idea what is going on? Really getting tired with this tedious project. The sled turned over hard this past weekend and now it wont start at all. We thought maybe it was the relay but we jumped it and nothing. We also...
What is the size on a stock 2008 rear idler wheel? I am look to replace both of mine but cant find the specs. Also, are there alternatives to buying straight from Yamaha that are much more cost effective? I am looking at buying one for $40 or less.
My family has been talking about taking a 4 day vacation somewhere in Wisconsin. We are looking for cool things to see and fun trails. Where would be some of those landmarks really worth checking out in Wisconsin that you can view on a sled? Any thoughts on a vacation spot?
Is there an affordable alternative to purchasing a new rear center shock? I have a bulge in mine and am looking into new ones. I am not too picky but cant fork out a lot of cash at this time. This is the shock with the reservoir connected to a hose.
You'll love the change. My old man has a 06 Nytro and I have an 08. He gets me on the top end but the 08 is a blast to ride. There has been a lot of complaints, but I've had mine about 4 years and have almost 6k miles on it. I have had electrical issues, but I attribute that to the guy who...
I know what the codes indicate, but wanted to tell you all my scenario and see your thoughts. I was riding this afternoon and all of a sudden I kept hearing a sound right below my foot holes and a thug. It was like ever rotation of the track something would hit inside the tunnel. I stopped...
Well I think I get to deal with the replacement of a starter. I was riding the first time this year, shut the sled off and went to start it and all I get is clicking and the fuel pump turns on and so does the dash. It is not a relay as I replaced it in my trouble shooting process and we have...
I know how to find the sticky about what the code means, but I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what may be a possibility to fix it? I parked at a local tavern (15 miles after leave) and I shut it off. Came back to start it, and it blinked this code. I then shut it down and...
I'm not exactly sure of a sticky for the doughnut replacement but I felt the same way you did about a year ago when I replaced mine. I wanted it done right and no idea on how these Nytro's came apart. It is fairly simple once you dig into it. Remove the rear plastics to get to the bolts on...
I don't mean to be a hijacker here again but I have attached a picture and a visual aid may help. I could use help as well as my sled seems to click when I turn the key and on occasion will turnover but not all the time. In the picture what is the starter relay? The whole thing that the...
That's my problem, I didnt have pockets in my underwear! I had difficulty getting them to expand even right after the element went to heck and the grips were still warm. I also did it in a warm shop. I would recommend trying to save the stock grips because to me, they are a cleaner finish...
I purchased grips and elements from rsiracing.net. To get the old ones off (if they are factory) can be difficult. If they are already rsi grips then you can just roll up the open and and get an air spot on an air compressor under it and blow some air and it should slid right off the bars...
We've cleaned the carbs the last two years and spent a little extra time last spring to try our best to prevent it, but it's just frustrating when you have to do it each year. Looks like I will have to learn how to do it on the new sleds because taking it to a dealer def. gets spendy. Any advice?
