    Performance Damper

I believe American Snowmobiler gave a price of $500-600 and that was for one damper. I think they implied that there was only one damper. Maybe they only saw the one installed on the back bumper and didn't bother to look at the front one? $1200 for the pair-no way. I snow checked an Apex XTX and...

    2015 vipers on dealer floor

While watching my dealer uncrate his blue and orange LTX, he mentioned something regarding they had the sled free of charge till a certain date (Oct. 30 2014) I believe. If they have a buyer, they can sell it of course. I don't think any one is allowed to drive it as Yamaha want it it back...

    Yamaha Peformance Dampers...Cool!!!

Rode a 2014 Vector LTX at Yamaha Power Tour yesterday with the performance dampers installed. Very smooth but hard to tell how much of a difference they make without riding an identical non dampered sled back to back. They were hyping these along with fuel stabilizer, Outlast technology (...

    idler wheels

Haven't had them come loose but have stripped the idler wheel mount by tightening them to a torque spec of 43 ftlbs as quoted in an older Apex service manual. I asked on here last year and I believe a spec of approx. 35 ftlbs came up. I re-grease all wheels every year and "snug" them up with...

    Another failed oil thread 2014

That guy you came across (Allan Gofenko) is the infamous Yellowknife on here. Notice the JASO requirement specified by Yamaha. I don't believe any of the regular motor oils (Mobil 1, Castrol 0W30 German made, Redline oW20 etc, etc) mentioned constantly on these threads are JASO MA spec'd. The...

Switch to amsoil requires Oil Filter change??

All oil types must be compatible. Otherwise a complete motor flush and filter change would be required at each oil change to completely rid your engine of all the oil presently in the engine. You can't get all the oil out no matter how long you let it drain, raise the front and back end etc...
