Hi all, silly question probably but I recently gave the 4 carbs on the rx1 the yearly cleaning and got it running, took it for a short ride then back home roughly 8km and I noticed the rx has a little bit of a gassy smell to it in the engine area, not terrible but a little fumy (is that normal?)...
Thanx for the reply, I am aware that they should be replaced and are needed otherwise they wouldn't be a part of the engine components, however I have a long time ago ran across a thread of someone posting that on theyre machine a rubber has deteriorated and they took them off ,however both the...
Hi all.it finally come time where the 2 rubbers on each of the 4 carb jets (04 rx1)have deteriorated and are coming apart , mostly the ones at the top close to the screw head of the jets 2 rubbers have came right off but it doesn't really seem like those top ones serve much of a use rather as...
Hello everyone, its that time of year for the yearly carb cleaning and I noticed one of the float bowl gaskets are deteriorated and im having trouble finding one, is there a place anyone knows where I might be able to find one? or anything else that might work if there arent any avail...
Hey all, its come time where the first time ever I need to replace my belt and theres no more markings on the belt and I am not sure what belt to get as I looked on the net and Dayco says they have them for 43 dollars a dayco 1108 and a 1118 but when you look what it is compatible with the 1108...
have a 04 rx1 with a thumb warmer issue, it would all of a sudden by itself max the heat setting and when I try to turn it down as im pressing the lower heat setting its fighting against me to max itself out again so I unplugged the thumb warmer switch and went for a ride and it is still maxing...
Got time to install the T's today and clean the carbs and lube the Rx1 M. up and change the plugs, purrs nicely with only 2000 miles on it :P
I want to thank you helmic for sending me the tees to get me up and running I definatly appreciate it and for whomever reads this, when I was new to 4...
Wondering if anyone has any spares around or know where I can get it from as the Yamaha dealerships around me cannot get them anymore and have no further assistance for me to go about locating them.
They are the 2 Carb Inlet Fuel Tees that are connected by the float bowl,(04 rx1) I cannot find...
just wondering if anyone has ever come across this issue with a hand or thumb warmer, doesn't matter if the sled was just started or running for a while, out of nowhere when it decides to the thumb warmer will all of a sudden max out and darn near scorch my thumb, lol. when I push the lower...
Thanks for the reply, although im not quite sure what Ts your talking about indy that have been broken off for years and that its no problem because these are the 2 main fuel line inlet Ts that feed the gas to the carbs so they seem pretty important :P.
here is a picture with the circled...
Just curious how easy it is to replace the 2 fuel t's that connect in between the carbs as I was doing the yearly maint/carb clean and noticed one is cracked so I thought I should get both and replace them but seeing the 4 carbs are all connected together was just wondering on some input as to...
after starting the break in with only 40 miles on the new phazer mtx, i loaded it up and took it back to the dealer, every day since i had it the battery goes completly dead, tried a diff battery same thing, and when it starts your lucky if itl start when its -15-20 out without a windchill and...
i agree we got some pretty awesome snow here in sask for riding and the banks now are unreal in some spots, definatly the best winter for sledding for me too since ive upgraded to the newer machines and reliability so far(knock on wood) not being the issue for puttin on alot of good fun...
so these machines do rev fairly high then hey, i was mostly concerned because it was only 1/4 throttle and it would be at 8500-9000 and half throttle was in the 11's already, this still sound normal for a whole half throttle left? seems it would climb in the 12s no problem
got it home from the dealer, the book says to keep it 8000rpm and under for 160 miles then from 160-500 miles keep it around 10000 under and then its broke in.
just a question , its a brand new machine and at 8000 rpm it only is doing 35-40km per hour is this normal? more or less what are these...
thnx for all the inputs guys, i put some break in miles on it for the uncle and its quite a difference from my rx1 M. definatly not as much body language to manouver it, kind of a fun lil machine the phazer mtx, might have to look into a nytro one day ..:P
the problem with it was the plugs, put new ones in it fired right up,at 18 bucks a pop i could buy my rx1 a whole set, lol. can i use a regular 12 volt charger on these batterys and slow charge them?never had a battery issue with my rx1 so never had to do anything with the battery
is it that way on the mtx's too? because everything still looks attached to eachother and these plastics on the frot sides and rear ides jsut dont budge, these bolts that let the seat go are they in the front or back, when i pry the seat at the back up to look inside it looks like it slides...
it looks so simple with the plastics n such, but whats the process? take side plasitcs out of the front then the seat bolts are exposed? or are the seats like a quad seat and just snap in? i took a few bolts off under the seat at the fram but it was lifting everything, exhaust and all, any tips...
