    Midwest snow report

Correct! We missed the rain in Florida, but it was very cool down there. Highs in upper 60s and 40s at night. Key West was the warmest at 72°. There was more snow on the ground, south of Nashville, than I've seen in Indiana in two years. Crazy winter!

    Midwest snow report

I threw up my hands on riding sleds this year and trailered to Florida last week. We unloaded at Daytona Beach, and rode everywhere from Naples to Key West in 3 days.

2007 Apex GT, Jackshaft bearing collar pulled through the bearing?

Just speculating... I'd say the ball bearings are gone on the jackshaft bearing behind the secondary, which allowed the inner race of the bearing and lock collar/ nut to shift inwards towards the chaincase. In what order did you re-assemble the chaincase and jackshaft? Assuming all the parts...

    RX-1 Broken Carb T's

I don't post on here much anymore, so forgive me of this has been covered: Somewhere on this site, there is an old post dealing with replacing the rubber boots only, that fit on the brown tee's mentioned above. I looked last night and can not find the post. If memory serves, a parts fiche...

20hp intake mod on a carbed Vec?

Absolutely. My 973 has always been great on fuel! And yes, the costs of owning and operating this machine have been very cost worthy. This sled has been my favorite trail sled out of any I've ever owned. I'm not an aggressive rider, but I keep a descent pace. This sled is perfect for that.

20hp intake mod on a carbed Vec?

It's interesting to read the feedback everyone has on the 973 carb engine. Everything from low end bog, pre-season woes, jetting trouble, etc. I have owned a 2008 Vector LTX since new. Maybe it's dumb luck, but I have never once had to remove the carbs and clean them. This sled has always...

    Your all time Favorite Sled?

    #1 - 2008 Yamaha Vector LTX. #2 - 2006 Skidoo Renegade 600 SDI #3 - 1996 Skidoo FIII 600 (still have it with 3,200 original miles) #4 - 1979 Skidoo Elan 250 lunger (still have it)

    Loose steering

In addition to all the tips listed above, I would check the first heim joint at the base of the steering column, directly above the exhaust header (#26). Due to the orientation of this joint (upside down), it traps dirt and water in the groove and wears the ball and socket prematurely. There is...

    Team Fast 136" M20 - 2011+ Apex XTX (Version 2.0)

In the meantime, I installed the mid-rail wheels and wanted to show how close the wheel rides to other components and why the 1/4" aluminum spacer is needed.

    Team Fast 136" M20 - 2011+ Apex XTX (Version 2.0)

Here is the step-by-step process of making the new 90° tunnel transition bracket. The original has to be replaced with a new bracket that has a #4 male JIC swivel fitting inside the tunnel. I used my original homemade patterns to trace and cut the base plate on the bandsaw. Then I cut and bent...

    Team Fast 136" M20 - 2011+ Apex XTX (Version 2.0)

I managed to get the air line reversed on the skid this evening. I removed the 90° swivel fitting from the air spring and replaced it with a 1/8" pipe street 90° fitting. The swivel end of the air line will now connect at the tunnel, while everything else remains fastened to the rear arm. THIS...

    Team Fast 136" M20 - 2011+ Apex XTX (Version 2.0)

Second on the list, I'm modifying how the rear air spring supply line connects to the tunnel: One end of the air line has a swivel fitting that attaches to the air spring. The other end has 1/8" pipe threads that connect to a 90° transition fitting I made at home. This routing has never caused...

    Team Fast 136" M20 - 2011+ Apex XTX (Version 2.0)

I have my buddy's Apex 2.0 in the shop for some post season maintenance, and a few small M20 related upgrades. First on the list, is adding extra idler wheels to the M20 rails. TF offers this kit, which consists of: (2) PPD brand 5.35" wheels w/6205 bearing (2) Polaris 5131314 idler wheel...
