Bad driving on soft snow condions

On my two days trip, my 2024 SRX went very well on hard pack trails. The second day, we had snow falls. On the soft snow, I was unable to keep the sled straight. The feeling is one ski bites-digs more in the snow, than the other does the same making the rear of the sled go right and left...

    Smell of gas when accelarating

My friend has a problem with his 2020 SRX. His engine has been replaced by a new one last november. Last winter, his engine blew out probably because he rotated the clutch oposite to contrerclockwise. Anyway, since dealer replace the engine, he gets a puff of gasoline smell when he accelerates...

According to yamaha, no hyfax overheating problem on XTX '11

My dealer called his rep about hyfax overheating problems I and other customer enconterd on our XTX 11. Yamaha says there is no problem, so no solution to recommand. I have 40 years of experience on many brands including 6 last years on Yamaha (10 Yamahas). As it is, my XTX hyfax will...

According to Yamaha site specs, fuel tank capacity is reduced only by .14 US gal (.6 litres), because of the power steering. Does anyone have information thet can confirm that we will have fuel autonomy for 8.25 US Gal X 15mpg= 120 miles? Thanks

    Vector Weight: 2007 vs 2008

Previous Vectors 545lbs , 08 557 lbs, ltx wich I consider 577 lbs, same as my Attack! Why some says that it is lighter in the Delta BoxII? Any body who own a Vector rode a 08 ? See, the Vector's ride and feel so light, what to expect for 08?

Dual rate spring, best solution to cure bottoming?

My cousin who bought may 06 Attak is very pleased with it, but he would like to cure the botoming while keeping its plushness. He weights 210 undressed. Is a dual rate spring a better cure than a Yamaha heavier spring? If he cranks the cam over #6 or moves the c-clip, he will loose the...

To reduce max RPM to 10 500

My cousin who has purchased my 06 Attack tried different drive clutch spring to reduce max RPM. He still gets 10 800. So then, he played on the wrong place, should he try mods to the driven instead? BTW, what has been changed on the 07, max rpm is where it should be and clutching is linear.

    Ski lift vs ripsaw

Has anyone changed the Ripsaw on his Vector for a 1 inch predator or other and doing so, reduced ski lift problem? Can ski lift be significantly reduced WITHOUT compromise with suspension travel? These info will be taken into account for my choice of sled for 07. I actually have a Vector...

For those who drove 07 rtx with pro action

for those who drove the 07 RtX, I have a 06 Attack and Vector Gt. I loved the 05 Vector with pro action because I had the best of both worlds: smooth in the stutter bumps with virtualy no bottoming on the big ones. I never been able to achive hat on both the Attack and 06 Vector. Will the 07 Rtx...

GT: Is it worth for 1500$?

I sold my Attack and oups, no more red Attack. Red is available only on Gt. The rear suspension is easier to adjust but other than that, is it a better sled?

06 MONO better than 05 for comfort?

The Vector suspension has been a pleasant suprise for me. Once properly tuned (see my post on suspension stock), me and everybody who tried it loved the ride. On my RX, it has been a different story. I never found a setting for comfort, neither my friend. I also tried other 05 rx with different...

    Vector suspension-excellent results!

Settled like described below, excellent results are achived, tested since more than 2,000 miles on lot of different conditions by different drivers, especialy bad trails. Never thought it would be like that when I drove the first 500 miles with the original settings. Now, to my surprise, it...

dead battery end of the day

If I can have help, i will appreciate. I am on my first day of a week long trip. Just arrived at Grand Falls New-Brunswick, after a 330 miles day. Parked the Vector for check in at the Hotel and when I get back to park it, battery is dead!!! No sign before of a low battery. Tomorrow morning, I...

PAW!...valve cover gasket blow on Vector

There was a beautiful sunset when my son and I stopped for a pause at the end the afternoon. 10 minutes later, when he started the engine, I heard a kind of backfire and saw steam coming out of the Vector hood. The valve cover gasket was out on the magneto side. Even though oil was spilling...

Slide wear and sticky. Solution is to replace the Ripsaw?

No success with the SLP antiwear pads and loose tension. Is there a successful cure other than simply replacing it with a 1"inch lug fully clipped Predator? I just want peace of mind in marginal snow condition and no sticky track. I bought a sled(05 rx-1 and 05 Vector), not a cow!

Mono RA- Need to weight 250 for better results?

From previous topic, Rx-Dave, mr Sled describe the ride quality of the Mono RA as awesome, like an m-10 or better. My friend (170 lbs) and I (195) tried yesterday to find the best settings. We are not satisfied with what we have obtained until now. To our surprise, the Vector rode a lot better...

Excessive slider wear on Rx & Rs - What's the main cause

Many of you have reported premature hyfax wear in marginal and good snow conditions. I experienced it also on both the Vector and Rx-1. My friends also. As soon as snow becomes "thin", hyfax simply melt while on other sleds, there is no such problem. To correct that, many suggested ice...
