    Stator replacement 08 nytro

I was able to get the flywheel stator cover out buy removing the to front motor mount bolts and tipping the motor back and forth. My next question is the 2012 and 13 nytro's use a different stator. I have read that it's a heavier duty stator. Will yhe newer stator work in my 08 nytro? I was...

    Blown ignition fuse

Ok, I found it right under the handle bars. There is a metal edge that cut into 2 wires of the harness. I'm going to do some solder and heat shrink tubing in the morning. The trail tank puts a lot of pressure on the harness. Thanks for the quick response.

    Blown ignition fuse

My 08 rtx is blowing ignition fuses. I suspect I have a spot in my wiring harness worn bare. Is there any common suspect areas to look first. I have read about this issue on this forum. Thought I'd post this while I'm waiting for my buddy to comeand haul the sled and me home.

    Extrovert drive sprocket

Yes it was easy enough to get the sprockets on and spaced to fit the track. I am close to where they need to be as far as centering the track in the tunnel. An exact measurement from one end of the shaft to the center of the sprocket will save pulling the shaft back out to move the sprockets to...

    Extrovert drive sprocket

As I said these are aftermarket sprockets from Schmidt Brothers. I can contact them Monday and get the info I need, but if someone here can help today my sled will be running by noon today.

    Extrovert drive sprocket

I have new drive sprockets for my 08 rtx nytro. Does somebody have dimensions for how far to press them on the shaft. I got them from Schmidt brothers and they forgot to send instructions.

    Mountaintech 43+2 report

I'm installing the kit on my sled now. It's a nice setup. The trails on tug hill don't open till after deer season closes. I'm stoked.

    Clutch (Ulmer vs. Schmidt Bros.II)

I had Ulmers stage 2 kit on my 08 RTX first and I liked it a lot. The weights in the kit are soft and they wore and peened out with use. The price of replacements was pretty steep I thought. I replaced it with the SB stage 2 kit for not a lot more. Both kits do a good job lowering the engagement...

    Mountaintech 43+2 report

I have an 08 RTX that I'm thinking of adding this front end to. I put a grizz gusset kit in the front sub-frame so it is rock solid. This weekend I was crossing a metal deck bridge at under 10 mph. I caught a skag and put a 90 degree bend in it. I pulled it off to ride home and noticed I had...

    Belt slipping

If your belt is oily put a rubber hose on the drain nipple from the air box. A hose out the bottom stops the oil tank slobber from being pulled onto the belt with the air flow under the hood. I have all the plastics in place and the aluminum skid plate on my sled and I really can't run in much...

    Heated shield wireing

I was checking out a wiring diagram. The blue/white wire feeds the headlights. If I go this route do I need a heavier fuse and how much?

If I hook directly to the battery what size fuse are you using?

    Heated shield wireing

I finally broke down and got a heated helmet shield. I have read threads on here before about where to wire it into the sled but can't seem to find them now. So where do I tie into a switched, fused power source on my 08 RTX?

    blown motor 08 nytro

I'm at 13,500 miles on my 08 and still strong. I need to keep track of rivets loosening up in the chassis. I keep drilling them out and replacing them.

    Clutch Kits

That's my point, I can put the Schmidt bros primary set up together a little cheaper than buying another set of weights from Ulmer's. I think the yamaha components Schmidt bros used will be longer lasting. I don't see any need to buy a whole kit no matter which way I go.

    Clutch Kits

The bushings realy aren't the problem. The face of the arms that runs against the roller has a couple of divets worn into all three of them. One arm has started to peen over on the edges. The material they are mad of is soft. I think the oem arms will last longer. This setup has a bought 5000...
