I know the float skid into a Nytro has been beat to death but I have & will share the front mount template produced by Yamaha. Yamaha actually made a light weight float retro-fit conversion kit for the Nytro MTX. As typical from Yamaha this kit was way over priced & the light weight kit was too...
I believe that sound could be caused by a low battery charge. I know I've heard sounds similar to that that were battery related. Is this a new sound coming from your sled or always been there? I'll check mine out tonight when I get home but never remember mine making that sound.
Those dam trees never play fair! I love the dedication to get back out on the snow & ingenuity to work around adversity. With 20 years in the military as a mechanic (suppose to be anyways) I know all about that. Great work & keep ripping up the snow while you can!
Now the tear down of the old tunnel has begun!
Removal of the old tunnel was straight forward, drilling out old rivets Take tunnel off. It actually went really smooth & the worst part was having to us a vise grip on the back of some of the rivets.
Yes I'm doing most of the work in my...
So with living in Southern WI & riding WI trails & off trail in the UP my 153 AC float skid is just over kill. I've decided to down size it to a 141 Float skid. To simplify the process & still have the option to run the 153 I'm just swapping the rails out & putting a shorter tunnel extension...
The cool thing about the float skid is its only a rail swap with some real minor changes. A different anti stab ($100)& I had to get the different track adjuster pieces ($10) & different axle adaptors because I'm running an OFT triple rear axle set up ($60). So not bad at all.
Snowman how far have you gotten on any of your mods? The 36 front is great for off trail but might be ti narrow for a trail riding you do in WI. I believe they make a 39" kit now which would be the way I'd go (I'm running the Z-Broz 39 now). I also put a AC 153 float skid under my sled & really...
Or call a GM dealer parts department and ask for OEM terminal / Delphi part #33467-0003 which should be located in tray#23. The terminal fits in the connector, however it doesn't latch internially. But if you wrap it in electrical tape to the rest of the harness it will stay put.
The AC tether will work but they don't last. Your best beat is to contact Rick at OFT & get one of his Pro Armour tether set ups. I did the AC one first then ended up changing it out for one of OFT's...
I posted this ins the MTN section & thought I would post it here as well.
Ok guys I'm looking for your input on this one good or bad. So a few years back I did a huge build on my Nytro (with Push turbo) & put a 153 AC float skid under it with a PC 2.6 & a ton of other mods. It turned out great...
I ended up cutting my stock Mavric down to a 2" maybe a touch less & it seems to hold up well. Then when I want to do alot of off trail I put the 2.6 PC on.
The 153 Nytro is night & day different handling from my 146 IQR. I know it's not apples to apples but the 153 does feel long on the trail & I've never ride a 141 cat to know how that feels compared to the 153. I do appreciate your insight & the logic is sound & yes it is a 3 pitch set up.
