    Viper gas gage problems

Yes I did the entire trip without gas gauge working, just refueled at every stop I came across. I did it solo so I had to make sure I wouldn't run out. I have done plenty of riding in various areas of Quebec and Gaspe Bay has to be at the top of my list for riding.

am I to old for a SR viper

I'm 44 years old and upgraded my 2002 viper last year to the 2014 xtx, absolutely love the ride and how it handles in deep powder and on trails. I average 500-700 kms a day and feel great after a long day riding. I took my daughter out this past weekend and rode my 2002 viper which I haven't...

Hot starting issues continue after ECM update

Starter replaced, reflash completed, appears to start much faster now in both cold and hot starts. Had to pay for oil when starter was replaced as I was told Yamaha does not cover cost of oil. Not complaining as it was almost due anyways.

Hot starting issues continue after ECM update

Just had the ECU update done yesterday after having my starter replaced, will get out today and hope all is well. I must add I have 9200 kms on this sled and and a couple minor hot start issues last year but nothing this year with close to 4000 kms so far.

    Bad Starter question

Lost my starter at 9200 kms, worst part was loosing almost 2 weeks of riding because of it. I was told there was a back order on parts, seems to be a common problem.

'14 Viper SE really loose handlebars. Anyone else?

Yes check the bolt at bottom of steering shaft, while on a long trip last year mine started to loosen, at end of trip I had almost 6 inches of slack, made for some intense riding, make sure you put locktight on nut after you tighten.

    dupont slides

I just put Duponts on my XTX, I have 9200 kms so if the duponts are that much better than the stocks I will be happy with that!

How many vipers with starters going bad?

Add another starter failure to the list. Just over 5500 miles on my 2014 XTX. Trailered 4.5 hours up north and tried to start it up saturday morning in temps just below -30 celcuis, after initial moaning it started up only to shut off almost immediately, tried again....slight grinding and then...

    Year End Reviews

I love my new xtx, old sled is a 2002 viper, I absolutely love how this sled handles in the deep powder, also it took me a little getting use to the rider forward position but I love how I feel after riding after 500-700 kms. With my old viper I felt pretty banged up after such distances however...

    Season Enders

Ended the season in Cochrane Ontario. Trailered up there from Mississauga last Thursday. Friday morning it was -15 and trails were as hard as rock and not pleasant to ride, just west of kip water was running over the ice and we seen where all sleds turned around and went back. We went around...

    Steering slack

I complained about this earlier in the season, I had approximately 6" of play at one point, it was a result of the nut at bottom of steering coming loose, dealer repaired it in less than 20 mins and all as been good since.

    Cluch raddle

I have just over 5000 kms so far this season of some extreme powder playing, jumping, and thousands of kms of WOT and still on original belt. Just sayin.

    Viper Hard Starts

Mine seems to be getting better as I add more miles however it still does from time to time. I never turn off with kill switch so that's not the issue with mine. I am going to add the exhaust deflector as I noticed the last two times it lost rpm was when I was fooling around in deep powder...

    steering slop

Have it tightened right away, mine was close to 8 inches after a day of hard sledding which made for a scary ride, apparently a nut at the bottom of steering was backing out, dealer fixed in approximately 15 minutes and ite fine now.

    Deep Snow Bog

I had the exact same thing happen awhile ago while playing around in deep powder. I shut it off, waited a few minutes and it fired up fine.
