I purchased my sled (03 rx1) with heelclicker 2 speeds and the black primary spring. I wasn't given any of the adjustable weights when I took ownership of the sled.
I recently found a good deal on a set of drag n fly weights in my area with both the white and black spring and all adjusting...
Like the title suggests, I have no idea what brand these are or if they are part of a kit. My helix is stock but these weights and spring look anything but stock. The spring has no colours on it anywhere just black. This sled came with a modified airbox, 165 mains, and it never seemed to pull...
since all the snow is gone, I'm thinking I should do an oil change before summer storage. Do most guys on here do the same or just leave the old oil in until the next season?
Has anyone ever done a Post Forward mod on an rx? I figure I can rig something up with the stock mounts by flipping them around on the loop of over the gas tank. It also looked like there will be some play for me to increase the angle of the steering post. Im thinking I can stick the post...
I took apart the magneto cover and removed the housing and magneto rotor to access the sprag clutch (starter clutch) Mine had gotten so bad the sparg would no longer turn the engine or catch in any way. In an attempt to save some cash I shortened the spring that holds the roller bearings...
My starter clutch is getting really bad. It slips when starting and doesn't have a constant hold when cranking, making it hard to start. I believe its a worn out sprag spring that is what causes the slipping. anyone ever replace one of these things?
So I've finally put my rx1 back together. I had all the body panels including the hood off to service the carbs, and change the coolant, and to get to know my way around the sled. Anyway, I had run the sled without the hood on a couple times when I was checking the carbs for fuel leaks. I just...
one carb is leaking fuel to the air box side the carbs have been apart and cleaned twice. The float seems to be moving free and the second time I had the carbs apart I switched the float valve and the seat with the ones from another carb and the carb still leaked fuel. The motor is being run...
back again with the rx1 from hell... just emptied the oil and to no surprise it was filled with gasoline (explains why it was spitting from the crankcase vent hose). The fuel tank was drained when I got it. I added fuel to the gas tank when I had the drain plugs off the snowmobile to see if fuel...
Just got a 2003 Yamaha Rx1 from a friend of my dads the other day. When I got it the battery was dead, so I went to charge it. I removed the air box, because I was preparing to take off the carbs for cleaning. I went to crank the engine after about 30 mins of the charger being on to make sure...
