Remedy for snow and ice buildup under tunnel and skid

Worst part of the tunnel exhaust. The best remedy is a rubber mallet.

    Broken jackshaft bearing.......Y??

Yes, sorry about the confusion, I meant the drive shafts are prone to breaking, not the jackshafts. It was in response to you not having to spend so much at the dealer.

    New Apex initial set up

Put the 5 inch wheels with brackets on and you should be good. The Excel or Pioneer kits work great. I actually abhor those small hyfax saver wheel kits; they're useless. Lots here disagree. They either freeze up and quit spinning, the suspension compresses on them, or you lose them...

    Breaking in a new Apex

OK. I broke in my '06 Attak and '11 Apex by the manual. Neither use oil and both are the stongest of the pack. Fast machines. Don't imply that you'll only get a fast sled by breaking it in hard. It's simply un proven rhetoric.

    Breaking in a new Apex

Maybe, but there's still a manufacturer recommended break in procedure for the new owner. To the original poster, it's your toy....lots of different opinions, but only one which you can feel comfortable. Choose wisely grasshopper!

    Breaking in a new Apex

That's funny. Have you recently checked the owner's manual for the 2013 Corvette regarding engine break in?

    Breaking in a new Apex

I'd never buy someone's sled that was broken in hard (motoman, stolen philosophy, etc...). Glad you're all letting me know publically for that time when you decide to sell in the classifieds. jf

    Hyfax wear

Physics! Hyfax material has a melting point. With low snow conditions, it will reach that point quicker as you increase speed. With great snow conditions, don't think that the hyfax melting point miraculously disappears. It's still the same, but you may be able to hold your increased speed...

    Doo towing a Yamaha???!!!!

A machine is a machine is a machine. They all break down; they all get towed. My '06 Attak left me in the pooper in a real bad spot in Northern Ontario long ago. It is what it is.......

what adjustments needed for 8400 elevation help needed!

I was in your "shoes" a few weeks ago with my 2011 Apex. Ended up going to the Snowies in Wyoming with elevations starting at 8400 up to 10,500. I removed all the rivets from my weights (as per the specs in the service manual). Basically had "empty weights". The sled performed great...
