This event is a chance to see many great-looking vintage sleds and has a big swap section. Yamaha and Yamaha-powered sleds are being featured this year so it should be interesting for many TYers.
Dates are from Jan 24-26. See www.mwvss.com for miore details
Great history of success!
Did you consider bringing some of your past race sleds to Waconia MN for the Jan 24-26 vintage event? Yamaha and Yamaha-powered sleds are the featured brands.
see www.mwvss.com for the details
I was at the Waconia event this year (Scorpion & Brut brands) I saw lots of old sleds running around in great shape. For 2014, the event will feature Yamaha & Yamaha-powered sleds (ex: Sno-Jet & Roll-o-Flex)
First sled I rode was a 1964 Arctic Cat. First sled I bought was a 1969 Rupp GT300 (new). Those were the days - you had to start riding with at least 6 buddies so there were enough sleds running at the end of the trip to get everyone back.
As a side note, I used to call my first girlfriend...
Corey Davidson (Davidson Racing) & Yamaha wins the 40th running of the Soo I-500 in 7 hrs, 49 min, 59 secs!!!!!!!!!!!
Chad Drydahl (Gentz Racing; Yamaha) is 2nd; Gabe Bunke (Pro 5; Polaris) is 3rd; Chad Gueco (Gueco Racing; Yamaha) is 4th
Looks like a great run for Corey & Yamaha.
10 laps to go & now under a yellow. Yamaha solid in 1-2 & 4. Looks like a great run for Yamaha at the 40th Soo I-500. Both Corey & Chad Gueco are running the 40th anny Yamaha colors to honor both the snowmobile race & Yamaha tradition.
50 laps to go. Corey still in 1st, Bunke in 2nd (-5 laps) and Drydahl in 3rd (-6 laps) Drydahl running slightly faster than Bunke, so maybe he can catch him.
Gueco in 4th, down 15 laps.
Less than 100 laps left and the pace has picked up. Top 4 guys are Davidson (Yamaha, lap 413, 76.3 mph); Bunke (Pol, 407, 76.8); Drydahl (Yam, 408, 77.4); Gueco (Yam - Chad Driving, 397, 77.3). The S/D of Dewald dropped way pff the pase at lap 380
Gueco must have went in for repairs. He has dropped from 3rd (down 6 laps) to 5th (down 16 laps). Yam 1-2
Now it is Corey Davidson in 1st; Gentz/Drydahl in 2nd (-4 laps); then Bunke (Pol - 7) and Dewald (S/D -14).
Corey is running 73.0 mph; Drydahl @ 70.0; Bunke @ 74; Dewald @ 74.2 mph.
