My valves were out of spec and thought that was going to fix my issue by shimming them back into spec, but unfortunately didn't. For me it was just a little lean just off the throttle towards idle. Getting a fuel programmer and tweaking the fuel at low rpms at idle and just after idle resolved...
Not many others seem to have the issue with the latest flash, but for some reason mine still had that lean/pop issue at zero throttle letting off the gas. It was driving me nuts! At least I finally figured it out. Hopefully be able to enjoy it for the rest of the season...
Just thought I'd give an update. I'm pretty sure I resolved my backfire issue. My last resort was to install a PCV fuel programmer and slightly increase the fuel percentage at idle and slightly off of throttle from 1250 rpm through 3750 rpm that I read from another older thread. Well, so far it...
So it sounds like yours is more intermittent than mine. Mine is pretty consistent when letting off the gas. I ended up changing the shims on my exhaust valves to get them within spec (huge pain in the butt btw) and I still have the backfire on deceleration. I also tried bypassing my tors...
Well, just checked the valves. Intake are good, but the exhaust valves are definitely out of tolerance. Should be between 0.0083-0.0098 and I'm at 0.006 to 0.007. I'm guessing this might be my problem. Hopefully...
It has 5700 miles. Cold starts have been good since putting in a new battery. However I did notice the rpms dropping at idle during warmup. I also couldn't start it when still hot after stopping for gas last weekend. I had to crack the throttle to start (1st time I've seen this issue). All of...
I'm beginning to think it might need a valve adjustment as well. Last night I pressurized the exhaust system to make sure the header and muffler didn't have any leaks, which they did not. I'm going to put on a new header gasket and muffler gasket and try it one last time to rule out the exhaust...
Lol, didn't notice that but thanks for the reply! I noticed I smelled unburnt fuel on deceleration so I may just try replacing the fuel injectors. It's possible one might be stuck open. Thanks again and let me know if you figure out the issue. I'll do the same...
I know this is an old thread, but I am having the exact same issue and I've been pulling my hair out over it. Did you ever end up figuring out what the issue was. Was it a bad injector like you thought or was their an exhaust leak somewhere? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Well, I just put mine all back together and took several runs while adjusting the throttle position, all the way loose to when the TORS starts kicking in. Still backfired the same as before. I'm beginning to think TORS isn't the problem either. I thought it only did it when it was warm as well...
2015 LTX all stock backfires or pops on deceleration when coming to a stop and letting off the throttle, but works great besides this issue. If I ease off the throttle it doesn't backfire. Has new gas and spark plugs. New ecu in 2019 with newest flash at the time (previous owner). No cracks...
