I'm a little late in getting sled out this year. Just wondering what kind of oil everyone is using. Also I would just prefer to go to Napa today and get oil, filter, possibly plugs since its been a couple of years and I was also wondering if anyone has replaced the air filter before?
I was able to make it the last 20 miles home the other day with one bar and the fuel light on. I ended up getting about 120 on the tank. This was the most I have gotten on a tank and the best mileage I have seen so far. We were mostly riding hard packed trails averaging between 60-70mphs. We...
It doesn't really matter what they do as long as they produce one with the top of the line shocks for under $10,000.00 otherwise they probably won't sell to many with the way things are going.
Switch to a wider ski. I use a C@A ski but the simmons are a good ski to. The yamaha snowmobiles are not very well balanced front to back and tend to be nose heavy. They are harder to ride in deep snow because they dive all the time. I had the same problem you had this weekend with the heavy...
Just wondering why my reverse beeper doesnt work. When I click it into reverse it beeps only once. I had to change gears out this summer. Did i miss something?
We have about 2-4 inches in southern minnesota. Certain ditches are good and rivers should be ready by end of the week. Hopefully storm hits MOnday night. We are in the path. If we got the low side of 6-12 that would be the storm of the decade for this area.
I actually posted the battery recall. My dealer said on some vin #'s that they will be replacing batteries if they are defective. They are going to meter mine to see if it needs to be replaced. The other item they are fixing is the wire harness.
Mine is also going into the dealer sometime to get balljoints replaced. Dealer called last week and told me they finally got the bulletin and are waiting for the tool. They also said that there is a wire harness to replace and also on some vin #'s the batteries are also getting replaced. They...
First of all I wouldn't do any machining off of the upper balljoints. Sometimes these people do so much tedious work to these snowmobiles that they generally end up worse than when they picked them up. You will need to run dual carbides or switch to a different ski. The ski's on the yamaha...
The belt is a Yamaha belt. It might be the old version. I think it is the spare off my old Nytro that I never used. I didn't do any prep work. I will ride it some more. If the sound doesn't go away I will go get a different belt.
We received about 2 inches of snow here in southern minnesota on Friday mourning that lasted about 3 hours. We went for a 20 mile ride to make sure everything is working before the season really gets going. About one month ago I put a new belt on for the season and now I'm getting a whistling...
I agree. I got blue as well because I thought it would look better on snow. I was all geared to get white and then I kept second guessing myself. I would get white because no one really has a white one and they are sharp looking.
Don't get the 600 race sled from ski-doo. That is actually what my freind has now and it runs like complete #*$&@. He is having alot of problems with the carbs. He also tried the 800 conversion a few years back on a 440 race sled and it turned out blowing up. You may be able to make that idea...
I also had two Revs before trading to an 06 nytro and now to my 08 rtx. I would say it is a toss up on which sled is better. I like them both very much. My friend had a xrs800 and I personally think it is the sharpest looking sled ever manufactured. Both the XRS and and RTX have good...
You can also run dual carbides on the factory yamaha ski. I had vary little darting when I switched to the dual carbide. I now have a set of C&A's but i would probably get the simmon skies if I did it again. I have my floats set at 75 as well. They never bottom out. I have not had any...
