Re: nytro
install was pretty easy, everthing works great put setting up the GEMS box for our elevation was a couple of weekends of screwing around and another weekend to get the clutching bang on. I have now been riding it for four weeks problem free, once set up they seam pretty bullet...
ya I believe the the speedo to be pretty good on the Nytro so i would say around 118-121mph, I passed my buddy on his Apex which he said was reading 127mph when I went by him and that was before I hit top speed....
What kind of top speed are you guys seeing with S/C XTX's??
I,ve got a s/c shortie running 5-7psi with 24 upper gear and the best i have seen on the dreameter on a 1 1/2 mile pull was 128mph, although it gets there a lot quicker....
check that your oil breather hose did not hit your fan and the fuse isn't toast, I had this same thing happen before I relocated the hose........
hasn't overheated since
Skydog,
Let me know how the new gems controller works, had the exact same thing on the weekend. Set it up a week ago 12.9 at idle, 13.5 low to mid range 11.8 to 12.3 at WOT everything working great!! Took it out saturady and everything was off 15>0 plus at idle, alll over mid range and 12.9...
ya I wasn't talking about holding it to the bar for the 15 miles what I meant was can I run it at 100-110 to stay with my buddy on his Apex for that length of time with an SC installed??? I reralize I will be far from the bar. THX
Re: Ohlins
I put Ohlins on front & back this year, updated to heavier springs on the front thanks to Gormleyflyer and they work really well. I thought I was dialed in at the end of last year but I can't believe the difference this year, the sled feels lighter all around and the rear seams to...
We run a lake by ours that is around 15 miles across, last year myself and a buddy on his Apex ran across it to the bar the whole way at least half dozen times....... now with the SC on mine will I be able to run the length of it at 100-110 ??? or will I have issues with that???
Hey Jamie,
It was a real interesting week, but once I got a few other issues out of the way the actual tuning seemed to be a snap.(broken wire on fuel pump, fan fuse blown and air lock in rad) I hope to get on our lake this weekend for some loooong pulls and I will let you know where the...

First off, thanks for all the help, I phoned MPI and told them to put a link from there site to...
Hey Skydog,
You got a boost gauge on your sled, if so what PSI are you running and did you end up going to the 27/29 pullies?? I am trying to dial mine in right now but same as you having nothing but issues!!!!! and with the 27/29 pullies I am showing 11PSI ???? should be 5-7 ?? I DON"T GET...
Re: NEW UPDATE FROM Schmidt Bros.
Hey, did anyone ever order any of these or does anyone know if they did get any preorders and if they are planing on making the kit for the Nytro...... looks interesting ???
I ran the slydogs all last year with 3/8" ski savers and bergstrum triple point carbides and tried the toed in as recommened and then a 1/4" toe out and finally a full 1/2" toe out and found that that definitely ran the best for me with the 1/2" toe out.
I did the 2.5 along with 3/8" shim on back of rubbers with slydog skis and 1/2" toe out and it was like riding a different sled, the front end is now great and handles well, I would recommend doing these mods ;)!
Perfect glad Tony chimed in, I was bitching at MPI all winter that we needed a custom built 28 for the bottom, IMO that is what you guys need to make the sea level boost numbers or we have to clutch em for less rpm, less rpm with stock gearing = less speed, even less rpm with the gearing I gave...
Hey Jamie,
you did have a 29 gear in the bag of tricks you had that had been used. I now have a 27 top and a 29 bottom which when I do the math puts me at 115,507 assuming 8500 rpms which would be between 6-7psi yes/no but isn't the clutch set up you had closer to the 9400? and would that...
I had the simmons on my 03 viper and they worked great for trail riding. I put the slydogs (race) skis on the nytro with ski savers and bergstrum triple points and they worked fantastic last year, I would reccomend this set up for any trail rider......... I don't know what the simmons would be...
