Electric Visor Hook Up for Rage

If you put a small zippy tie around the 2 plugs, running it between the 2 wires on each plug, they won't pull apart. The same thing used to happen when we were installing the accessory racks onto the 500 Venture XL, 2 strokes. The tail light wiring harness extension has the same type of plug...

    vector engine issues

I've been a technician for the past 20 years, the last 6 or 7 of which, have been with Yamaha. I've seen 2 of the 120, 4-stoke engine failures. Both from the same guy. Maybe 1 or 2 donut replacements. With 6 months of winter, I see quite a few sleds in a season. They're pretty good odds...

Electric Visor Hook Up for Rage

On my '06 Nytro, which has the same type of harness, I bought the Yamaha accessory outlet and plug. No splicing, not cutting wires. Just drilled a hole for the outlet. It plugs right into the harness, under the tank cowling you'll find a 2 prong plug with nothing plugged into it. That's for...

Not yet, but my wife has one bought for me, for Christmas. I'll find out what it's like in another week. ;)!

    06 Nytro Setup

I'm 6'0, 250 lbs. On my '06 Nytro, I've got my rear suspension cranked all the way up and the strap is stock and it's perfect for me. My problem is the front. After 5-10 minutes of riding, my forearms feel like they're about to fall off. After a few different set ups with the Fox Floaters, I...

    Electrical Issue?

aVenture is probably right on the money. The only machines I've seen this happen on, are the ones with weak batteries. It has to do with the load, and if the gauges and headlight came on right away, it would take away the juice needed to run the ECU, therefore, it remains off until the levels...

    Clutch side sheave wearing!!

These machines are normally good for a few thousand klicks on the belts. Get your offset checked. Also, does the belt squeel, or do you have any abnormal clutch noise?? There's a slider update kit available from Yamaha for the RS models with regards to the drive clutch, and the driven may...

Great photos and info, Yellowknife. Now, if Yamaha would just let us do their cold weather testing...... ;)! :pics:

No problem, Phazernut. It'll be the end of April before you can't ride around the city here, and the end of May, if you trailer outside of the city.

    '03 RX-1 Startup Codes

That's the normal start up for the sled. It's doing a self diagnoses. The flashing orange light is the temp light. It will usually stay on until the machine has warmed up to operating temperature. It will also come on if the machine gets hot while riding. ;)!

Possible 03 rx-1 purchase looking for advise Please Help!!!!

Yamaslob, sounds like you have the bases covered. Check the things you've mentioned. Bad gas, because of the low octane level, will cause the machine to pre-detonate, which could cause catastrophic engine damage. Those machines were pretty much bullet proof, except for the choke, which would...

What do i do now.????? Outrageous..

:o| I'm with Mikey...get new friends. It won't take long for the gas to break down the dinosaur and have it plug up your filters and run through the entire system, possibly plugging up the fuel pump, mains, pilots and inlet needles. :die

    How does my plug look?

Not too bad, but on the verge of being lean.

Haha...not really. I just wish it would warm up a little bit. It's been down to -40 to -50 for the past couple of weeks. I wish it would get back up to the balmy -25 to -30 range. If this keeps up, I'll be wearing a t-shirt when it gets up to -10. ;)!

    Looking for a Phazer RTX

$14,149. Shipping stuff up here costs quite a bit more than most places, but when you have 7 solid months of winter, everything sells. :yam:

Yeah, B'ys, that's what peeved me the most about back home, the crappy and inconsistent winters.

We have one here on our showroom floor, but that's probably a bit longer drive than you had bargained for. ;)!

Need Help! Engine cut out mid ride!

PM me with your serial #, Nytro YK. I'll check the warranty on it. If you have spark, you can eliminate the T.O.R.S or the oil level. If you have spark and compression, I'd be more inclined to think it's a fuel related problem, as was mentioned earlier. You can drop it by the dealership here...
