that's the best looking sled and sled picture i ever seen, does it look like that stock?
Well thank you very much, that's quite the compliment! :) Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I haven't been on here as much during our summer months. To answer your question, yes, that is basically the stock look. I say basically because the Mountain Lite/MTX models never came with black and red plastic from the factory, I swapped out those pieces (it used to be grey and white)....

I also added hooked handlebars from a GT, a PowerMadd 'mountain bar/grab strap' and machined cutouts into the handlebar riser, then polished it. For the rear suspension, I built a narrow rear axle so I could place two billet wheels inside the skid rails. So that's about it, hopefully one of these days I'll make some more progress on the newer mods so I can get some more pics up. Thanks again for your interest!

Nice Phazer mtx!! I like the GoPro mounted right there on the handle bars!! Bet you get some nice footage with it.

Thank you! Yes, it was a nice location for video, but was only held on by the GoPro elastic strap, so there was a lot of vibration that transferred into the sound and video. I ended up mounting it to the top of the headlight cover, which worked very well. i added a piece of 1/2" thick dense foam between the cover and headlight to dampen any vibration, and video was very smooth after that. It also allowed the camera to be looking forward, regardless of what I was doing with the handlebars.

True, I never thought about it not turning when you turn the handle bars. I guess one of these days I am going to have to go out and buy one. And start filming of my own. So many times off trailing, I am like wow, wish I captured that on Video!!!

Yes, it is pretty nice to be able to look back at those good times but it's also easy to end up with hours of high-definition video that you have to either keep and use or delete. I found that I would turn the camera on when I start riding and turn it off when I stop for a break. That way, the camera was on, "just in case." I think the best thing to do is keep on top of what footage you have before it gets out of hand.

Also, if you are looking for a GoPro, I would suggest looking at their 'motorsport' model. I'm not sure if they still make it or not, but it has a few useful features the others don't. Well, a few features my camera (Hero 2) doesn't. I think all of their newer models have a lot more features than either. Anyway, the Motorsport version has a small viewing window so you can see the area you'll be recording, as well as a red light on the back of the camera that lets you know if it's on or off.

My Hero 2 only has the light on the front, so I always had to lean over the handlebars to make sure it was on. Finally, it uses AAA batteries instead of a special battery pack, so it's a lot easier to obtain and carry extra batteries.

Yup, got ya!! I just think for when I backcountry ride a lot, it would come in handy. I am not sure what GoPro model I would get as I have done no research on them yet. All I due time, one of these years I am hoping to get one.
