Team 23 -
On trail to Kaltag gps ping at 10:06 approx 25 miles out of Galena, waiting on officials from Kaltag..... ? Huh ? ? ( If you pull up the Gps info on the IRON DOG site it shows that team 23 is in Kaltag )

Team 32 -
on trail to Kaltag

The weather didn't hurt the lead team too much. They still have a near 10 minute advantage and a night to think about it. Tomorrow morning will see the top teams in a 250 mile drag race to Fairbanks.

SB

Polaris wins by 3min.18sec., lead the entire 1971 miles and averaged about 53mph. Pretty good for breaking trail. Did the last 52 miles in 46min. Nitro's still on trail.

Team 32 finished 11th on the Nytro, 56:59:50 back from 1st place. Good job.

Congratulations to Team 23. You made it! We would be interested in a summary of your race.

Team 32 made it. Team 23 still on course. Summary from both would be great! Congratulations!!

I to would enjoy reading about how his race went. I'm betting all he wants to do for the next few days is relax. You figure at the end of the race, he still has a 5-6 hour drive from Fairbanks to home.

I wonder what kind of a-arm problems they had? I'm guessing they would have been caused by some kind of impact.

I was checking out photos of the winner's Dragons and they were equipped with rear of the tunnel mounted, custom, aluminum gas tanks. They appeared to hold around 5 gals of gas so you add that to the stock 12 gal tank and they were packing 17 gals of fuel!

Tried to get some Nytro photos but by the time I got downtown most had been put on trailers and my camera was frozen up.

Did manage a couple.

Not sure what others thought but I can tell you from a spectators point of view the double finish line thing was lame. Having the timed finish at Pikes then being escorted down the Noyes slough to downtown seemed a little silly.
For me the best part at the Pikes was being able to see all the sleds line up afther they arrived. Spectators could look at all the sleds and see the amazing setups and battle scars from the race.
Curious what you and the other racers thought about the double finish line Mark? :f

iron dog

Ice ridge on the last day took us out of 11th place, broke three torque arms along the way, was 52 below taking off from Galena, 62 below along the river, from Nome back it was a blizzard,
