Just replaced my donuts today with copper ones.
How tight do you tighten the bolts on the clamp?
Do you really tighten the bolt or just snug it up.?

Since this part is subject extreme heating and cooling cycles, I would think it needs to be tight.... The manual indicates 6 ft lbs. ....that can't be right.

I tightened mine snug and then put about a 1/4 turn more into each bolt.
 
The clamps have a stop on them that will prevent over tightening. A lot of people grind a little bit of this stop tab away to allow further tightening. I tightened mine until it basically bottomed out on the stop.
