- 100% SKIDOO YAMI BLOWS
Thx all for taking the time, this is my first yami, I've been riding doo all my life but many issues forced a brand change. I spring ordered a SE short track and this thing is evil!! Could be the worst trail sled ive ridden. Its all over the place and slides through even corner. Im 5-10 185. Im studded with 4+6 inch carbides that seemed to help but it still plows. Fronts are on 75psi, center is stock. The rear springs are on the softest. This sled seems to have 0 weight transfer, like when i come over a hill or sit on the thing she wont budge at all. My dad has a rtx dx and the sleds are like night and day, yes i know its softer but at least its safe to ride in a corner! i just dont know where to go with this sled, ive mess with studs, carbides, front shocks, rear spring settings???? please help its my first yami and im lost. thx guys

I run my front shocks softer at 68psi. You may want to try that. I don't have studs but they are probably contributing to your push problem. I like the fact that you have good carbides, you may want to consider Curver Skies or raise the limiter strap up one hole. That will add more ski pressure.

RBELL14, do you mean loosen up or tighten up limiter strap?

I think if you tighten up the strap it adds more pressure to the ski

Thx for the replies guys, i think the sled Has 96 picks. My next step was the limiter strap 1 hole. What about the center shock?? I ride with 2 cats that r twins minus the way the center shock came set up from the factory

I have tightened one strap and carbides still can't steer( and 96 studs).
Also decrease the preload on the front skid shock to the near minimum if it's not already. Adjust from there to start. Usually they are wound up to tight and it hurts handling.

Try going one hole tighter on strap and take a little preload out of the front rear shock.

Its gotta be those damn tuner skis. I have a 2014 with stock skis and 6" DoubleDowns (similar to slim jims) carbides, 135 studs and I have no complaints at all about handling. I ride aggressive and our trails are tight, twisty and often times bumpy. I have the front floats always between 65-68lbs, torsion springs on soft and transfer blocks set to full. Last year my rear suspension was quite stiff so in the off season I had my rear shocks revalved by Bruce at Pioneer so now it rides much better now as well.

I have 14 rtx with tuners.
6 inch each in and outside.
60lbs front shocks.
Middle shock ¼ inch tightened past no tension. Back couple block thingys on 2 and torsion on soft. If I lean good it hugs around corners well. If I don't lean, then it's still good, but not on rails.

Try uncoupling your suspension. Since your shocks are stiff this will loosen your suspension by around 20% softer. If I ride on the gas tank I can go right around the corners with very little push, but if I sit back and gun it i can pick the front end up and wheelie over the bumps. It's simple to do and if you don't like the way it is put the coupler block back in.

pull limiter up 1 hole from stock, turn transfer blocks to the 3rd setting, 60-70 psi front shocks ( find what feels best for you), loosen off tension on rear front shock spring. if its still a little soft on steering put torsion spring on med. adjust the rest with rear front shock spring. big difference in a half turn each way when your getting close. I'm 210.

Sound like alot of you guys are messing with your center shock?? so maybe go down on the strap 1, put my floats on 68ish, but how many turns on the center to soften her up? also is the blocker set up like the skidoo? 1-4? what do you think for aggressive trail s corners. im not racing i just need it to stick!!!
