Yes started several times since the initial no start. Nothing looked really dirty. Took a wire brush to the battery, starter relay, and ignition switch. Fuel pump cycling and power to the gauge pod each time

Perfect. It happens. Could have been a loose connection as well. But at least you got it.

Lots of Yamaha 4 stroke starts since 2003, first time this type of problem for me. Lots of reliable starts over the years.

I had the same problem on a 06 apex turned out to be corrosion at the Kill switch, cycled it a few times and problem disappeared
