i have a 2011 xtx. Just bought it a couple weeks ago and it only had 930 miles. I just took out for the first time to Michigan for a few days on the trails. I noticed on the first day during my ride that when I get off the sled it wont spring back up. Its sitting at least 3 to 5 inches low. I can lift the back end up, but it goes right back down when riding and it doesnt spring back up at all. What is normal sag? And what kind of adjustments, rebuilding do i do? Or do nothing. I just bought it and havent had a newer sled before. I put on 400 miles in 2 days and it rode great, but Im just worried about if i need to dump some money in it. It was bought new in 11 but sat the last couple years. When I bought it, it sprung up with no problems. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Put it in and thaw everything out. Then go through and grease everything till you have clean grease coming out. Cycle the suspension some and then regrease the controll arms again(ones that slide at the back of the sled). It might help some with the sag. On mine once the suspension has been warmed up/worked a bit I've usually got maybe a inch or so of sag. Just the other day though I had it binding and the front was staying stuck up in the tunnell. Once I had everything greased up and thawed out it was fine again.

I just went out to measure the sag, and its 3.5 inches. But, it wont spring up AT ALL. It goes down and theres no play. Jumped up and down and no bounce at all. Im going to wash it and grease it up and see if that does anything. I will post later today if washing and greasing in warm environment helps.
Frustrated!

^there are a bunch of threads on this.

Re-grease will only only help a bit

There is too much friction in the xtx rear skid with the dual transfer rod. I tried everything to remove it, but when riding you really don't notice any difference. I did spring spacers, re-grease, you name it. I ended up just get the star susp kit for the rear skid and then you will really feel how nice it is especially on trails (and sag will be gone too)

Couple of years ago, the kangaroo shock in the suspension(the one without the spring) lost all the oil, and the suspension seemed to go flat after that. I got the shock rebuilt and appeared to improve it. Is that a possibility?

The XTX has an inherent sag. Grease helps, settings help, I used Hygear spacers and X-Click Cams and a few guys have done the Star Suspension retro-fit. The latter seems to make a big difference but since I'm almost 300 lbs. geared up the cams and spacers worked for me.

I washed it up real good and greased it. Still stays down. No rebound. Maybe a half inch when im pushing it down hard. Since I just bought it, what should I adjust? Or does it need a rebuild, nytrogen? Any help would be greatly appreciated. We have a storm weds which will probably be my last ride of the year since Ohio is moving towards spring, so Im not really needing to work on it asap.

Get your shocks revalved. I had mine done a few years ago and this year the rear end seemed to be lacking rebound. I thought it was too much ice build up also till my last trip. I then had the rear shock rebuilt and wow that was the problem.

You should get all your shocks revalved that will really help the handling also.

Did you get your shocks rebuilt by Star Suspension?

I had this exact problem on a different skid, ended up having a slightly bent shaft in the rear. One of the ones you grease, had bad scoring on it and a little bit of a bend causing it to bind. I know its a different skid but seen this a few times. Good luck

I installed the Hygear torsion spring spacer kit. This was very inexpensive and works great. have now put around 2,000 miles on the kit and rear suspension works allot better. Everything else in my skid is stock.

The first time I already had my shocks sent to Shocktec when I decided to install the Star Suspension. The rear shock a few weeks ago was just sent out locally for fast turnaround so I wouldn't miss out on trail time. I consulted. With Star about my rear shock. This summer I will likely send my other shocks to Star.
