I am getting close to firing the boat for the first time with the nytro motor. What weight oil should i be using for summer in this engine? I looked in the service manual but the range stops at 60 degrees F and only has 0W-30.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

most synthetic oils seem to cover a large operating temp range from other equipment I have looked at. If your cooling system can keep the engine at normal operating temps, I'd think you are fine running stock oil.
IMO there shouldn't be any difference in a motor running at 190* when it's 90* out or -40*

I need a picture of said boat to further evaluate what oil is needed. LOL

5w30 should be enough. are you planning on monitoring oil temp to determine witch oil you should be using?
I do know there where some of the vector motors installed into ultralite's a few years ago but I do not remember if they mention what oil they where using.

I'd recommend a synthetic 40 weight.
