07 Attak
I recently purchased this 07 Attak in the fall so I do not know much about its history. It has a newer track with a ton of studs. I was going to install a 4th wheel kit so I inspected the rear wheels to see if I should replace those also. I found the rear left wheel chewed up on the inside. (see picture) I bought the sled with 2600 miles and just got back from a 600 mile trip with zero issues so it has about 3200 on it now. All the other bogey wheels look fine. I am going to replace both rear wheels when I install the kit but I wanted to know if a underlying alignment issue exists.

Check your track alignment and make sure the rear axle/wheel components are assembled in the correct orientation. It looks like that wheel has been rubbing against the track?

Also, you could have had a track clip(s) break and chew on that wheel. If that's the case, make sure you don't have a driver chewed up as well?

Maybe something got jammed behind it like ice or ?? maybe something happened with the previous track/ owner. Never seen that before so If the alignment looks good then I wouldn't worry about it. Just replace it and keep an eye on it. Studs all good and tight?

I can think of two occasions on the last trip where I pulled it off the trailer and drive for a few seconds with the parking brake ON. Would that do this kind damage?

This pic is from before my last trip. Track and rear wheel looks perfect.

No that is not the parking brake, I believe that is a slider to protect the adjustment cable for the rear shock. It looks like it might be broke and chewing up the inside lugs. I don't own an attack but by looking at the microfiche that's what it looks like to me. I'm sure someone will chime in to let you know for sure

I see a broken off chunk of cast on the shoe. Fiche doesn't show me anything so I would also hazard a guess in that the track is bouncing in the area caused by the indentations cause by the studs. I think whatever broke off the cast got caught up in the back wheel and the lugs on the track are bouncing off the broken cast area chewing it down. All I have! :dunno:

The only thing that I see broken is the part of the plastic shoe that protects the cable. Can see it in the pics in the 5th post. That piece is plastic, don't know if it could do that damage to that wheel. But the shape of the top of the drive lugs matches the shape of the damaged RUNNER,SLIDING 2, 8F3-47422-01-00 . Still think it's being caused by the track drive lug. Do the marks on the wheel go up just as high as the drive lugs.

I had almost the same thing on a Rage with a 136" track and it was caused by excessive weight on the rear of the sled. I had a friend break down and somebody towed his sled and I put him on the back of my sled for 40 miles when we were done that's what I found just like yours plus a broken wheel .

That rear wheel looks real close to the track drive lugs or is it just the angle the pic was taken from??
I would suspect that a foreign object got caught up in the back of the track and caused that damage. It only takes 12' of forward movement to damage every lug.
The plastic shoe on the RA or Remote Adjuster for the rebound of the skid shock looks normal. It takes a beating in there and that's its job.
For only 3200 miles there sure is a lot of wear on the drives.
BTW Beef up and powder coat that w arm before it breaks on you.

I don't believe that is the part in my picture.

I have reason to suspect this sled had a lower mile cluster put in before it was sold.
