I have a couple ride ligts to mount. FYI theses are the safety ligts popular in the east to let oncoming riders know whats going on VS hand signals.
They are LED it says in the instructions NOT to wire them to a headlight circut to choose something else.
My question is why? cause that is the easiest way to do it. I can't imagine this LED can make the headlight that dim. My brother wired his to the cig lighter circut but my 05 doesn't have that.
help!

If the light malfunctions or the wires that power it short circuits you could lose your lights. Also the headlights toggles between high and low so there isn't a continuous power source unless you tap into the circuit before the headlight relay. You should never add accessories to any engine control or lighting circuit because if a problem developed it could leave you stranded. It's best to add a dedicated fused circuit or pick up power off of an existing accessory circuit like the 12 volt dc jack.

Ok makes sense, but I don't have that jack so go back to what the battery and add a fused circuit?
Or is there a spot in the fuse box to add more acc?

The 2005 vector is wired for the 12 volt dc accessory plug.
3amp fuse for the 12 dc accessory plug
prewired 12 volt with a factory connector
Adding a heated shield connector
