With boost! I know a colder plug would be good. How often should we change them? Are you closeing the gap alittle for boost?
Thank you Skydog

I run NGK CR9EIX Iridium plugs at .022 gap with stock ignition.
Will go back to stock gap with MSD ignition.

Ted you think a NGK CR10EIX would be better for pushing the edge? I do love the NGK EIX plugs! That is the plug i run in my 300HP drag boat they clean out real quick!
Thank you Skydog P.S. What is stock gap?

I don't think you can go wrong either way as long as your tune up is good.
Heat range has more to do with the ability to keep it self clean, you will probably find you will have to change out the 10's more often due to carbon build up.
A plug that is too hot can cause detonation but I don't think 9's are that hot.

I am willing to bet the Iridium plugs are taking away about 4 HP versus the CR10EK's. Especially at big boost.

The stock gap is anywhere from .028 to .031 this is for the rx-1 and right from the manual.
