If they are like the Apex, then turn the key to the on position let the speedo cycle, then start.

The 08 Vector is carbed Bulldog, cycling won't work.pook34 said:How do i start a 2008 vector gt. The previous owner said the engine has to be primed? can anyone help me??
There is a vent line on the left side (seated) near/below the secondary clutch, you blow in that to provide gas pressure to the carbs.
Make sure you have enough gas in the tank and it should it fire, or have 2 people, one to provide pressure and the other to turn the key at the same time.
(P.S., I have never done it, just basing this on what I have read on here. Should be lots of info in the Vector/RS section or do a search)

Did the sled sit for long? If it starts up and run but when you take off the choke it dies might be a fuel delivery problem. Might be in need of a carb cleaning? Try something like Sea Foam, I hear it works wonders to clean it all up.

I don't think there is a problem with the carb, it only has 600 miles on it.
The previous owner said something about priming the engine under the intake??
I didn't talk to him and my father forgot what he said but he was told I could find the process online.

I don't have a carbed sled but my understanding is that if it starts it should not need any priming unless the gas has evaporated or the sled ran out of gas and the float bowls need to be filled up again.
Since the sled was started I think the problem is not priming. It could be the carbs. They can gum up with even 10 miles if the sled sat still and the gas went south.

If its old gas (from the previous owner) I would drain the tank and use fresh gas with sea foam. I think that once the old gas runs through you will be back in business.

Everything Yamahas says, get rid of the old stuff and it doesn't matter on the mileage, if gas ran through it once it can and will go bad, usually in 3-6 months or less.
Hope the Sea-Foam works for you, give it some time to do it's job (10 minutes of run through) let it sit over night and retry.

X2 but you may still have to prime it by using the vent tube. if you pull your clutch panels and look at the foot rest. Look at the top of the foot rest mount.
