I purchased a set of TRIC scratchers a couple of months ago, and finally used them this week. Can I just say....WHAT A PIECE OF S!*T! After 1 day of riding approx 200 miles, these things were cracked and broken, ready to fall off. I wish they would of fallen completly off because they beat the crap out of my sled in just 1 day. I have marks and dings in my skiis, bellypan/skid plate, tie rods, and side panels. They must be dancing around under there, and going every direction but straight back. I would highly recommend AGAINST buying these. Now I am in the process of seeing what I can do to recoup some $ from the dealer that sold these to me. :o| :o| :o|

- Hmmm...I have them, and so far about the same milage as you with no issues.

- Mine were installed by the dealer, and I haven't touched them.

- Be sure to post what comes of this.

I have a set but went with another option after reading a similar review. Please post pics of the damage and the install ,, if possible.

Another thing to watch with these scratchers is there down all the time so whenever in dirt, or gravel or any other crap, that will all go into the suspension.

Good morning Denise,

We found during our product testing that if the instructions were not followed correctly and too much down force was put on the stud this sort of failure would occur. As you know we offer a 90 day warranty (from date of retail sale) on all of our accessories. I made an exception in this case as a good will gesture which reaches beyond our traditional warranty commitment. I am sorry but no further compensation will be provided.

I have attached a copy of the instructions which outlines the proper installation procedure and warns of potential "marking" to the underside of the sled may occur with the use of this product.

Regards,

Jordan Mulcock

needless to say , I bought the BMW of snowmobiles at a premium price and to have my frame damaged by a Yamaha accessory from design , not by operator neglect...I'm disappointed in Yamahas customer service on this issue !

Oh man ,, That sucks ! It's a good thing you noticed it when you did ! I think you would have a case if the dealer installed them for you. It clearly states in the instructions in bold black print that damage may occur when using this product . If they were dealer installed and you were never told this, than the dealer should take the hit . Not Yamaha ! If you installed them and read the instructions than you were warned this could happen. I went with a ski mounted setup that works great without any fear of damage. It's too bad we need them at all with these sleds.

p.s Don't worry about it too much ,,, nobody will see it when you fly bye ;)!

Mine are banging up the bottom too...thankfully I have a skidplate on it.

I'm not sure they do very much. Still burning hyfax a bunch, but I have a 1.75" on my attak.

I was thinking of putting normal rail scratchers on it, but can't figure out where to mount them.

go with slide kicks or trail blizzers corey. The trail blizzers mount on rail but i think when the bend back theyre halfway down the skid, I mounted mine from running board and reinforced them with two 3/8 zinc washers so it doesnt tear the scratcher right out from directional force. Interchangable tips and flexible. 100 bucks here at yamaha

Update...Dealer refunded full price of scratchers + shipping. A little heat from a torch, and I got the skiis and plastic about 95percent better. You can hardly tell they were hit. Sanded 600, then 1000, then polish the tie rods...they are about 70 percent better. Really, nobody will be able to see that they were hit except me. I am just fussy....oh well.
