Ok I have been thinking about this one for a bit and today was the day.
I was guessing 1/2 a day in the shop would do it... WRONG. good 8 hours it turned into. I am very happy for a first attempt, Could do better next time. ( if ever). The pipe I got off Ebay for 35.00 and I had the rest. will owe a friend for his time and use of his metal shop
I do owe him big as that "right tool for the job" thing came in to play severial times today. Not to mention he is a welding God.....Used header wrap to cover some of it and think it would look better with only stainless steel exhaust pipe showing. I have never liked the rear cooler hoses exposed and some times want my feet there, So I made some custom covers while I was at it. I think they will work well.
Test ride in the AM. I will attach some pics I took durring the day in the shop and one of it in "its natural habitat" in a day or so. I still need to polish it up and tighten a few bolts before the morning ride. On first take on sound was just what I was looking for. Just a little bit lower but wont realy know till tomorrow.

Love it ... Gave me a few hassles which was probably just us learning to get along... Halls a##, Hard to read the gages when thing are flying by you so fast. Has anyone ever thought up a dial-a-jet for the pitot.? That would be sweet, one with a cable up to the dash. Headed out in a few to test the new exhaust. I dont think it will hurt the power at all and now I can strap fuel on the back too.

Re: Here it is. My new Exhaust into the tunnel rear Bender R
Nice workmanship, and I only offer this to help you.
Dumping the exhaust down in the tunnel can severly hurt performance, the snow and wind from the track is like sticking a potato in the tail pipe.
You have that nice long tunnel extension, you can lay a nice Motorcycle muffler on top and exit straight out back for max performance and quiet power.

Well todays ride was great.
As far as sound goes.... it is much more quite at idle. I was on the other side of the truck durring warm up and thought it must have stalled but was running just fine. at WFO it is almost as loud. Very close and still sounds great. My riding partner had to put up with the smell of burning header wrap on the trail out in the morning but it was all good by the end of the day. I did notice it ran 10 to 20Deg cooler, I was worried it would run hoter.
Ted I did some searchs on the loss of power and decided I was willing to give up a few ponies for the gains I would get. ( a clean deck and a place to pac fuel) In all honesty I did not feel any difference in power at all. Felt just as strong as ever.. Might show something on a dyno by not noticeable to me. it is 1 3/4 pipe into a empty bike muffler with two 1/34 exit ports into the tunnel.
Once it makes the jump to light speed its all just a blur anyway
few better pics with a before as well.

I am glad it is working out for you.
You may not notice any loss in power until your above 60 mph. won't show up on a dyno.

It will vary with, Speed, Track profile, and snow conditions.
The exhaust needs to vent to Atmosphere uninterupted by turbulance.
You can run a test with a pipe with a turn in it, then rotate it around facing it forward, backward, up and down.
Results can be seen with a radar gun pretty easy.
In this instance the track will be throwing wind and snow up into the exhaust exit.
