Yes I did a search but can't find the one topic I seen awhile ago on Nytro oil filters.

Just need adive for the size of oil filter when I go to get an aftermarket oilfilter. We have a Napa dealer in town. Any suggestions for brand?

I won't buy a generic canadian tire or Wally mart filter.

Yammi seems alttle pricey here in town. And I know there are just as good or better quality filters at a fraction of the price.

Any Part numbers for the filters????? :drink: well it is Friday night and just waiting for the morning for a ride ;)!

Get a filter for the RX-1. It's slightly longer, but works just fine.

It's what I used on my old ('06) and my new ('08) Nytros.

FRAM # PH6017A cross referance it to whatever brand you may choose.

The K&N filter is #KN-147. You can order them from their web site and maybe through your NAPA store too.

I brought my stock filter to an Auto parts store then they just crossed it for me. Its a little longer but more filtering space the better.

Dont be too concerned about the walmart filters, there actually very good filters. I found that on some oil filter/oil analysis web site. I will find it and post as it was a very good read......stay away from orange filters, JUNK!

Wix 51358 changed mine last night. Napa gold 1358 is what I used. Same filter. Wix makes napa.

FRAM filters suck. If your trying to save money, don't. Cheap filters are exactly that, cheap. Read some online tests. There is a reason people spend $11 for a NAPA Gold filter for the their vehicle over the $4 Fram or K&N. That being said, I have never cut open a stock Yami filter so who knows what's inside.

I would either go stock or NAPA Gold which are very nice...and good for your truck too :D

Also as far as bigger being better, some of the cheap filters have been known to clog and start bypassing as soon as 500 miles. You absolutely get what you pay for.

I do not understand this...? Why not use the OEM oil filter...? Are they mega expensive over at your place, or what...?
You know that the OEM filter will do the job, otherwise it would not be in there. It is not like you will get a major improvement in lubrication by choosing any of the aftermarket brands...

Well its kinda like Should I pay for the overpriced yami oil when I heard and read the Shell synthetic is just as good and a hell of alot cheaper. Priced out a Yami filter here and it was $28. Checked into the Napa gold filter( which I heard many positive reviews) and its only ~ 11-12 bucks.
We all know yamaha well over charges for their lubes, always have!!

I cross referenced and got a 51365 on the wix instead of 51358. Does anyone know the difference?
