so was going to go to hardware store to buy two new screws that hold the hyfax up front in place. set them on the counter and came home after deer hunting and she tossed them i guess.

So can anyone help me with what thread size and approx length i need. its part number 90151-06005-00*

Can't remember the size but do yourself a favor and get a tap the right size too and run it through after you slide the hyfax on...it will save you a ton of headaches.

yeah sounds good. they were a bitch to get out im sure the threads r shitty.

For something so cheap why not get it from the dealer. You already have the part #

I was sick of dealing with those stupid threads that are so easy to cross thread. I drilled thru my rails sideways and drilled the threads out. Now I have a nut on top the way doo does it, much easier.

i want to know the threads so i can get an allen head one instead of the phillips which strips out easy taking them off. ill check out the skidoo style unless u got a picture handy revster^

Slider Bolts FIX
-use stock 6mm bolts
-232 561 414 (BRP/DOO nylock nuts for slider bolts,qty 2)

measure 6mm or 5.5 threads up

Make PUNCH mark there at 6mm

Drill a 3/16 hole first,then a 13/32 hole

Use a small file to square off hole

Now drill out threads with 1/4" bit

test fit the nylock nut

for reference when others read. no pictures but pretty simple. never thought of this but its pretty simple.

U put those cuts in your slides so they didnt want to pop off when sliding them on??

This is worth doing- drill out the old thread and put a hole through for a nut. There is a thread here somewhere, was it Rockerdan?

Edit- I think it's this thread but I can't see pictures in my browser.

Yup that is what I did with mine. ....and I was happy my iceage rails came like that as well. ;)!

I just find they slide around the bend easier with notches in them, and I chamfer the rear end too just in case I want to change them with the track on (easier to get through the windows)

Mine is not stripped, but is always a pain. That fix is pure genius. :rocks:

what do you guys do to these things?
4511 miles and i just replaced the stock hyfax. was totally dreading the screw after reading this...it came right out like butter.
drove slides back 3 inches out a track window...start sled, put in reverse...brap brap brap, slides off, wd40 the new one, hammer it on...fresh blue loctite...insert screw...dont overtighten, and repeat.
1/2hr job solo.
oh and if you scratch or burr the rails....file it down!!

my sled has abou the same miles and it took a ton ot get them to even slide backwards what was needed. i wouldnt have a problem except i dont know what pitch the screw is. i am doing this mod next year.

From memory of a few years ago I believe it is 1.25, in my phazer anyway.
