I love it. I did the first 1200 miles with the stock riser and my last 1400 with the mtn. riser. I would never consider putting it back to stock. The only place the tall riser might be inferior is under very aggressive turning when you hang to the inside of a turn. Everywhere else it was better, especially boondocking. 8)

Hey superman, how tall are you?
Did you have to lengthen the brake line, throttle cable and possibly the parking brake?

By the time you buy a riser and the very expensive 4 bolts you might as well buy a rox riser that allows even more adjustment.. like i did!
there is a post about it if you read down!

the mountain apex bar riser is very nice, I did this to my RTX and was very happy. There was a bit of strain on the throttle cable but I took the time to re-route it slightly and everything was perfect.
With that being said though I will be selling my riser/bolts as I'm switching to a totally new riser/handlebar setup. If anyone is interested PM me. It will not be available immediately as I do not know when I will have time to remove it.

No. I bought all the apex mtn cables and did not have to use them. For all I know they might be the same length but I own an extra set of cables now. They are 2.5" taller than stock. I am 5'11" Tall. because the handlebars themselves are not a straight you can roll the bar in the mount to adjust forward and back. Also the 07 mtn riser is 1" longer yet than the 06 mountain. Coldone you are going to want to try it before you cut it. The riser is something that will be the first I do if I buy another apex/attak next year. Oh (this is going to sound bad) My wife even loved the extra 2.5" (riser). really. (she's about 5'6" tall)

Superman, I noticed that you also changed the handguards to the powermadds ... did you also buy new mounting brackets or did you use the stock ones?

I don't know what you mean rik :?: I never had Yamaha hand gaurds. I bought the Powermadds from Port Yamaha last fall and that is what I had on there since new.

You don't have to buy the Yamaha bolts. You can go to any fastener company and get the long bolts for a 1/10 of the price.

The 2007 mountain riser isn't any taller than the 2006 model mountain sleds. The difference is in the handle bar itself has 1" more of rise in it.

My apologies Superman ... thought you were just replacing Yami handguards with the Powermadds. This is what I want to do when I get the new Nytro but I don't know whether I have to get new mounting brackets as well or whether I can just use the stock ones.
