Just wanted to warn anyone using the SLP Anti- Wear Pads. Yes they work good, but when they wear down and peen over they become a cutting tool and cause much damage!!!! :o|

I would recommend changing them every 2 seasons so this does not happen to you.

I just don't understand that leaving every 3rd hole closed was such a good idea. I say go back to having every window open. Sure clips break once in a while, But it seemed like the hifax lasted longer.

Well, I tried getting another skid on E-Bay and it was frantic bidding right to the end :o| Needless to say I did not get it!!

So I priced out new rails $176. each, not including all the riveted on hardware!!

So I decided to Heli Arc them and refinish them myself, pretty difficult when there paper thin!! #$%&*

What pissed me off the most was my riding buddy cleaned my clock on his Mach Z and I knew something was wrong but it was not obvious because everything was frozen (Below Zero) in Quebec. Last year we would run side by side. :tg:

Damn thanks for the heads up Bob! Someone should try to come up with an even BETTER wear system for snowmobiles somehow eliminating clips and or maybe a different surface on tracks where the wear takes place?? Man they would be RICH! Although this would be hard to do ..there must be something better..clips dont seem to last long enough..mine were gone at around 3,500 miles.

I wish I had known I put a SC10 III in mine and I have a whole ProAction I would sell for like 350 bucks shocks everything even has the original hyfax on them in good shape.

How many miles on those pads ?

Also is the wear on the rails at the bend caused by the pads as well or did the hifax wear through there in past ?

Those pads had about 8000 miles on them. (Too Much)

The wear on the rails was caused by the bent over pads and it all happened in a short period of time, that's why I did not catch it in time.

I have an 04 Warrior with 136" skid.

Pay close attention to that W-arm. It looks like its rusting bad on the bottom side at the point where they normally snap (just ahead of where the straps drop across). You might want to thicken that up before it causes you a headache next year.

Two years ago I pulled that W-Arm out because it had hairline cracks in several places (hardly noticable!!). The welds where UNDERCUT from the factory, the cracks where right on the edge of the welds.
I rewelded the entire W-Arm with three passes on each joint ;)! Upon initial inspection it looks good ;)! I'll have to do a little painting.

I just have to ask, had you checked your wheels this season?

I check them every season, grease every bearing and change if needed.
I also carry spare wheels with me. The original rear wheels are still good at 9200 miles, I have a brand new set of wheels with replaceable bearings from an 02 SRX that are ready to go in when the originals give up the ghost!!
