Ok guys don't mean to beat a horse on this if it has been covered in depth already.
I know I read somewhere on here about the XTX rails bending when guys have jumped with it. Has this been a big issue with many or just a select few who have tail landed. I am no cross racer and don't jump like one either, but like to occasionally put a little air under the track. Should I look to support the tipped up rails some how, or just ride the thing like I stole it. ??????????????????????

Call Hygear, see where they are at with this.
They told me about some XTX testing and said they were working on a kit for the rails.
I supose they were seeing some flex or bending...
I can't see why they would take steps to make the tooling and jigs to mfg. a product if they didn't see a market for it.
I have my chassis out and designed my own rail kit from some alum. flat bar and some bolts and an extra shaft.
Done, and cheap, just cut and drill.

kit
That is where I am at with it too. If I could fab up something, I will. I just was not sure if there was a need for it or not.
Even just a shaft from one rail to the other ay the factory support brackets. Which would hold them equal. Whether that would make it stronger or not I am not sure.
Or, even looked at putting bolts with washers through each cut out in the rail support at the bend. Keep each side of the factory support brackets on each side of the rail as one.
Not really sure, but do see were this could be a weak point on a bad landing on a jump.
Thoughts and or Ideas????????

Out of all the reading I have read on the XTX, this is a rare occurance...

Dox06, here are some pics of my skid frame done.
Was doing a few things this year shock re-valve, bigger Doo wheels etc.
(last year I melted up 3 sets of sliders)
Rear spring spacers etc.
So I figured I'd support the rails too.
Season is so short, I'd like to be more safe than sorry.
Cheers

Which DOO wheels did you put on?
mach9
TY 4 Stroke Master
Doo wheels are 135mm diam.
These came from Kimpex with the berings included.
Outside ones fit easy but inside you need to machine the alum. blocks. since the Doo wheels use a beefier bering.

Mach9, so the 135mm wheels that you added that look like DOO wheels for the REV are actually Kimpex? or are they the DOO wheels.
Also, how much did you machine off the blocks?

These are supposed to fit with no modifications and they are on sale...I just ordered 6, not sure if I have to machine the inside but no big deal as the price was right...they also ship USPS to Canada.

I also think it is a rare occurrence, but I bought Ice age rails just for peace of mind. I did speak with Ross at Hygear and he was twisting the XTX rails. He rec'd adding cross shafts in the center of the skid and adding larger washers to the adjusters. I took it a step further and bought new rails. You can see the 2 extra cross shafts in the center around the bump stops.

They are Polaris. I think they may fit the stock rails. They have a deeper wear area also.

I bought a bunch of these, they have the 6205 bearing so you'll have to machine your inner mounts. I just used a good file and put the mount in a vise. This is the easiest and fastest way i thought. I didn't even measure anything. Just left one mount stock with the stock wheel on, and filed down the other mount until the bigger wheel was the same height as the stock wheel. Then match the other one up.
Only problem I found with these wheels is they are really fat...so there isn't much room in between the drive lugs in the track. We'll see how they work. If they get eaten up too quickly I'll get some skinnier ski-doo wheels. Which is what I'd recommend .

I might just run the outside wheels and have two spares...what got me thinking of these wheels was the slydog ones but I just couldn't justify the price. How may miles do you have on them this year??

I put them on my brothers 06 nytro. He has about 20 miles on them...then his oil reservoir cracked. So we're gonna fix that and head up to the U.P. this weekend and hopefully put on a few hundred miles. I'll let you know if the wheels survive.
I know what you mean about the slydogs. I bought 8 slydog wheels and it was almost $400. They look cool, but unless they last FOREVER I dont think its worth it.
