Yamaha Bulletin 2011 Apex Studding

That's interesting. I was just at my dealer this morning. He told me there was still no bulletin on studding. He called Hauck Powersports in WI, and was told there have been no issues so long as you run 1.325 studs, do not use longer studs. vHe also told me they have a protector for the EXUP valve for $50.00. So I ordered one.

If you could get the Part # for the Exup valve protector and post it here that would be helpful.

Thanks for posting....Looks like we will need to add a shim. It looks like the memo says between the tunnel and the bracket. I think it would be best to put it between the u shape mounts for the protectors. Has anyone tried this? What size did you cut the shim? and how to attach.

what a joke how do you sell a high performance sled which most eveyone will stud and act like nobody should stud...always covering their close offs...

That does not appear to me like a valid bulletin Yamaha would put out. To my knowledge bulletins are a controlled document and should have a number assigned.

You are correct, it is not an actual "bulletin" but rather a "Parts & Service Message" to all Yamaha USA dealers.

Got the bulletin directly from my Yamaha dealer. Contact your dealer and ask them for a copy and you should get the same one.

so what's the difference?

Arctic Cat puts Studs and Templates in the Accessories Cat-a-log.

do all the manufacturers cover themselves in this way or is this unique to Yamaha?

Huh, that's weird my Phazer MTX has an under tunnel exhaust but no protectors. I believe all the Phazers came without them.

Basically they F-'d up and didn't allow room for studs. How that happens in this day and age is beyond me. Oh the headlines, I can see it already, the others could have a field day with this. Whether you run them or not you can't argue this is a major oversight. If that's the case is it safe to assume you won't be able to run a 1.375 or 1.5" track either?
