I have seen some front nose bags available for the apex but my question is does the electrical component in the nose needs cooling air? I was thinking of just storing my extra heavy gloves in there but didn't want to have that component get overheated and cause an issue?
Let me know what you think?

I've saddlebagged many miles with the nose of my Attak used for storage. I throw a pair of jeans and some loafwers in a ziploc bag and have had zero problems. This is riding 250-300 mi. per day.

I've installed the nose storage bags (in both my Apex and Vector) from the OEM, which include instructions to reposition the electrical unit in question. I later checked for heat after a ride, and there were no heat issues.

Older apex's do not need to worry about stuffing that compartment, yamaha actually makes a bag for that area, however any model with power steering has the pump with cooling fins in that area, I don't think you will want to obstruct that from getting air

mine has been full of rope, shovel, jumper cables for 3 years and 8k miles so far no problems. I did have a mouse nest there for the summer and chewed my jumper cables.

The Yamaha bag works great in that area and it holds quite a bit. The directions with the bag tell you to loosen the nuts/bolts holding the regulator and tilt it to a more vertical position; so the bag isn't laying right on it. Mines been in for 10k miles and no problems with tow rope, extra gloves, 2 extra wheels, ratchet strap, and a small first aid kit.

Hey Blue, I just put one in this year and it works great. I posted a thread a month or two back showing (with pics) how to install the nosecone bag, including moving the rectifier/regulator unit. Here's the link:

Also, don't worry about the unit getting overheated. There is plenty of air that gets through the nosecose of the sled. Honestly, I don't think there is too much heat produced from the unit anyway.
