I am intalling the same track on my sled this year. Wasn't planning on installing new drivers, why should I ? Has anyone changed the track and not changed the drivers?

I changed drivers in my 08 & not putting em in my 09. The nytro likes a tight track & after the track is done stretching & tightened it stops ratcheting so easily.

It is much easier to change the drivers at the same time as you are changing the track. Go with the Doo drivers if you think that it would be to expensive.
There is more advantage then the ratcheting, you will also be able to have a looser track which decreases the wear on the slides etc.

I mounted Doo 9 tooth driver's on my XTX. I trimed 5/16"-3/8" off the rail tips and re-mounted the plastic caps.
Installed the skid without the track, and springs to check the clearance. There is approx 3/8" clearance (after the triming) so I figure without triming the driver's would just touch the rail tips.

Thinking about this as a possibility if I have ratcheting problems. Here's my question, the outside drivers, would it be worth it to put them on with the extros? Just thinking it may help keep the track from flexing, simular to the forth wheel concept. To me it would be like running just the two inside wheels at the back. How much do the outside drivers really turn the track? Just some thoughts.

They didn´t fit with the Ski-doo drivers. Don´t know if you use another brand.

Yeah, I guess since your moving the drivers outboard there really isn't much track outside of the drivers. Makes sense now, thanks.
RTX has no clerance issues with 9tooth extros.
XTX on the other hand needs trimming of the railtips.
Mtnviper posted some mesurements above.

When I installed mine I couldn't see how it would get close to the drivers. Just going by the radius of the front suspension arm it looks like the skid would have to move forward in order to make contact. Anybody have pics of the trimming process.

I run the Intense track on my RTX with the stock drivers, no ratcheting issues and no slider wear issues.
