My source at Yamaha told me that Viper will weight 20kg´s less than Nytro. Also he stated that 60% of the weight is under the handlebars for better handling.

Aftermarket turbo´s will be installed according to him only 15 cm´s from the engine, under the / handlebars = no turbo lag.

I'm curious about the weight as well.

I have to say, just a week ago I was saying that I never wanted to buy another first year sled again, but the Viper has me tempted. It could be an awesome sled indeed.

i was thinking the same thing

One Yamaha rep said 20 lbs less than Nytro, both full of gas and the Viper holds 2 1/2 gals more, about 40 lbs less total. Does anyone know what the number would be?

A 2013 non turbo 1100 AC weighs 526 according to Arctic Chat. 3 cylinder is heavier than 2 cylinder AC?? I will bet it weighs at least 535. What does the Nytro weigh??

The Nytro XTX weighs 540 dry if I remember correctly

If this is thing weighs under 500 lbs, and handles the way it should I think they might sell 1 or 2.

2013 Yamaha weights
Nytro: 512lbs dry, 572 est. wet weight
Nytro Rtx: 508lbs dry, 568 est. wet weight
Nytro xtx 1.75: 532lbs dry, 602lbs est. wet weight

AC non-turbo weights
PC F1100 sno pro: 518lbs dry weight, 598lbs est. wet weight
PC F1100 lxr: 522lbs dry, 602lbs wet
XF1100 snopro & lxr: 522lbs dry, 600 wet

People complain about the weight of the Nytro. It wasn't heavy in 2008 and still isn't by 4 stroke standards. In fact I think the only 4 stroke in the Nytro's engine class that's noticably lighter is the doo 4 tek. Everything else weighs about the same as a Nytro

I am sorry but if they have not altered the chassis yamaha is going to be heavier especially with a triple over a twin. Also those are all 2013 specs apples to apples non-turbo

and less power with the wonky exhaust, not to mention higher higher COG. Who knows though, maybe it will still out handle the Nytro and be faster. Wait to ride one and see.

Latest from Yamaha is that their target is 20lbs less than Nytro, equal amounts of fuel. Early prototypes beat that, they hope to mantain that in production form.
