Just got back from Woodgate for the annual shoot out. Yamaha Vector was best in the 600cc class, while the Ski-Doo won the 800cc class The only two classes were the 600cc class and the 800 cc class. As usual the Vector was in the 600 class, and the Apex in the 800cc class. Each sled ran two, 1/4 mile runs all stock, right out of the box, then they let the dealers prep them, and came back for two dealer prep runs. I think the only changes the dealers can make are jets and clutching. For each sled I will just list the best stock run and best dealer prep run. Conditions were in the low to mid 30's, overcast and just about 1" of snow on the ground which quickly turned to mud. They would only give the 1/4 mile ET and MPH. For the other increments(600ft. 1/8mile, and 1,000 ft) you have to go to the American Snowmobiler web site to get the results. Also the announcer said most sleds lost about 3 or 4 miles per hr. from the 1000' point, to the 1/4 point, probably due the the hyfax heating up. Results as follows in no particular order.

Stock run: 600 cc class all 1/4 mile ET's and MPH
Yamaha Vector-------------12.7@91 MPH
Ski-Doo 600 Etec-----------14.0@81 MPH
Polaris Rush 600------------12.9@87 MPH
AC 1100 4-stoke------------13.4@81 MPH

Dealer prep run for 600cc class:
Yamaha Vector--------------12.7@90 MPH
Ski-Doo 600 Etec------------13.6@83 MPH
Polaris Rush 600-------------12.7@88 MPH
AC 1100 4-stoke-------------13.3@81 MPH

Stock run: 800cc class;
Yamaha Apex---------------12.0@95 MPH
Ski-Doo 800 Etec-----------11.9@98 MPH
Polaris Rush 800------------11.8@95 MPH
AC F-8-----------------------12.1@93 MPH

Dealer prep 800 cc class
Yamaha Apex---------------12.2@94 MPH
Ski-Doo 800 Etec-----------11.5@98 MPH
Polaris Rush 800------------11.6@94 MPH
AC F-8-----------------------12.0@94 MPH

Note: These numbers are what I heard through there sometimes hard to hear PA system, so I am not responsible if I messed something up.

Wow new light weight AC F800 not so fast! Dont tell the other forums this cause they will think it was rigged...lol

Just like the last several years, the 800 class is very tight. The Apex still looks good versus the lighter competition.

BB Warrior - did they run the new Cat Turbo?

vice 108, They only ran the Cat turbo, in a special after market and modified event. There was one Turbo Cat that hit 119MPH in 1000', but it was not stock, as it had a few aftermarket things on it.

I've read elsewhere that the Vector ran 12.7 twice..and the Poo went 13.5 and 12.9....not sure how accurate, but if it is then it looks like the Vector was the 600 class champ,. ;)!

shaddow44: All sleds did 4 runs, 2 stock and 2 dealer prep. The Vector ran an ET of 12.7 on all four runs, only the MPH were a little different. Hard to believe it would do the same ET all 4 runs, but it did.

Great to hear yamaha kick butt.Wonder why they didn,t use the FX nytro instead of the vector?

Just checked out HCS(hollow cranium sledder)to see the results for the classes.Seems there so blinded by two-stroke smoke only one post out of 63 mention the vector was the quickest overall for the 600s.Most of the post are male egos being stroked and stories about how long there crank bearings lasted. They must have money to burn(or endless credit).

I read that whole thing and i had to say that the vector won in capital letters. But I don't thing the narrow focused bunch would hear me.

Were you in Martin MI. for Amsnow? One looked to run real well...

Wow they are all really close!!! Should be a fun winter. The new vector looks great. Why no Doo 4 stroke!!! It would have been nice to see if the new turbo Cat is as fast as they say it is. I am hearing NOT from a few AC boys around here. Time will tell!!!!
