- I pulled the skid to do some maintenance, and had the shock revalved, and now have put it all back together.
- I was thinking that I could "visually" see the shock "move" when moving the adjustment switch up and down.
- Am I supposed to be able to physically see the shock move when doing that, or only when moving down the trail?
- All help is greatly appreciated!

You don't "see" anything. The ec moves a needle in and out, contained within the shock body. Nothing external is affected, sorry to say.

- Don't be sorry Supersled!! Thanks!
- I'd rather be told that I won't "see" anything happen, then have to pull it all apart and start from sqaure one!
- First time doing all this for me, so I wanted to be sure she's all good before it gets cold and I gotta freeze my #*$&@ off fixing it!

There are a couple things you can do to verify you are "good to go" when the snow flies.
To check the gas charge in the shock: rotate the rebound knob. You should feel and hear a positive "Click". Without the click it has lost the gas. Second, If you get the shock icon in the dash you have successfully reconnected the wiring (of course follow the recommended routing of the wire and overdo it with the zip tie wraps).
Hope this helps!

- I had the shock rebuilt, and it's clicking good now.
- I also have the icon on the dash, so I guess, I gotta just wait for snow!
- Thanks for help.

Did you use 700 tie wraps? If not add more, obviously not 700, but maybe 600. Honestly it's tough to over do it. Make sure to follow the routing and use two to three times the tie wraps they do. Also make sure they are good quality wraps, sounds stupid but the cheapos get brittle in the cold, given the likely hood that you'll be exposing them to sub freezing temps, you'll want the good ones.

- Ha!! Maybe not 600, but there's about 12 - 15 on there now.
- And I can tell you that they're "nuclear" grade so there should be no issues.
- I was actually going to stop by my dealer and check out the ones they use when they do it.

There is never enough ties on but the ones around the connection are the ones that have to be the tightest to stop any moment .That is where mine let go and whats a pain to fix. www.peakvelocity.ca does a good on the ohlins, he makes them better then new! When are you going to post some pics of your re & re(heat exchanger-power coating-??) of the skid or do I have to wait for the PPSC show and shine ??Are you in it? to have a gander of it.

I believe Monte did take his shock to Dean at Peak Velocity, at least that is where I told him I had mine done.
Now, after reading this thread, I think I should take my fronts to him as well?
My sled has just over 5,000km's and they still feel good to me, but knowing they likely haven't been done before, I am sure I would notice a big difference?

- Yeah, I paid extra attention around the wire. I couldn't help but think how much of a pain it'd be to fix.
- I'm really looking forward to seeing how well Dean's work is. I hear it's night and day!
- I'll take some pics today of the rear hx and the skid.
- As for the PPSC show...I won't be in it, but I'll be up for a bit.
- I start to housetrain my new pup the Thursday before, and don't want to be away for a whole day.
- BTW...do I know you, or have we met Heat Exchange?

Monte I think you were leaving Dean's with your shock and I was dropping mine off.I got my shock back in and I can feel the difference just sitting on it in the garage.Good luck with the puppy!
Irv I was thinking the same thing about the front shocks but I will take it out for a ride before I get them rebuilt.I don't ditch bang that much. The front shocks on my other 2 Apex Gt's are fine with lots of adjustment still in them and one has over 20,000km on it.I hope the Ohlins are as durable. Are you putting your rig in the show and shine ?

It also looks like your studs are hitting your new HX? Have you addressed that yet or still working on it?

Good to know, thanks
And no show for me this year HX, once the fall comes I am pretty busy running my son around to various hockey arenas all over the place, plus I have a ton of work I want to get done to my son's XLT plus some trailer mtce that needs to be done.
I will be there briefly to have a look around and to buy my permits but that's about it.
What about you, you entering your 40th?
