I have a 13 Apex SE --- What size is the bolt that needs to be loosened on the rear axle? I keep my sled up in WI and want to pick up the MM socket before I head up. Thanks....

I believe it,s a 14mm, and you would need a 3-4 " extension as well.. If your stuck , or don,t have one, I think a 9/16 would work in a pinch as well. Don,t forget you also need a 19mm to loosen the big nut on the left hand side of the sled as well. And maybe bring an adjustible to hold the axle just in case it turns inside the tube. I think it,s a 15mm.
Thanks---It's the 19mm I was wondering about.....

The big nut on the axle is 32mm (1 1/4") and the other end is 27mm. The jam nut on the adjuster bolt is 17mm (I use a box end wrench). The adjuster bolt is 14mm.

On my '13 Apex XTX you need a 17mm and a 19mm for the rear axle and 14mm for the adjuster, and a 3-4" extension for the adjuster.

No, the axle that holds the rear wheels together on the 128 inch Mono has a 1 1/4 inch (32mm) nut on the left side and a 27mm head on the right side. You will need sockets for this. The adjuster bolts on your SE are on the side of each rail pointing forward. The XTX with the 144 inch track uses the old setup for adjusting the track.

Everything that sx7001 said and I wouldn't buy the 32 and 27 mm sockets (I did and returned them) as I found 1 1/4 and 1 1/16 fit better (less play) than the metrics I bought.

Yes, and the axle nut can be real tight from the factory. I use all 1/2 inch drive sockets with a 14 inch ratchet on the 1 1/4 socket. Big nut is 54 ft/lbs torque.

I read these sizes on another post and thought the person definitely got the sizes wrong!!
I haven't seen one yet so I don't know, but why are such large nuts/bolts req'd?
What did they do to warrant this size of hardware?

Not sure why either but this shaft is a lot bigger than the old, it's steel and hollow also. You can see through it. May have something to do with the forward facing adjuster setup.

Uses 6005 bearings (like 6205 only narrower) on the rear wheels now.
