Whos running dupont sliders on a non fully clipped track? any issues? My clips also have the holes in them that are supposed to capture snow and rocks ha ha.

yea, we are finding out that the material around the DuPont insert is overheating and melting away. My riding bud has that problem on his apex . I am on a Vector with all the windows open and clipped. We run the same speeds all day(W/O) I have problems with my Dupont' s. they work as advertised. He cut the windows open with a utility knife. It helped some but that rubber where there is no clip is making heat.

Was going to use the DuPont slider on the phazer mountains but dealer advised that track should be fully clipped otherwise they wouldn't work properly .... the Yamaha sliders for the viper look to have the inserts at a a greater angle so you may get away with every 2nd window clipped.

I would think you would be ok on a phaser in the mountain. We are on hard packed at high speeds. The only time we need to be careful is in the morning when the trails are rock hard.

Is this a typo?

I run them on my phazer but with a fully clipped track (151 challenger extrme, easy upgrade and highly recomended when its track changing time) and they work great.. I run with only an anti stab kit and the read and upper wheels.. NO wear last season!

I have them on my stock 2011 RS Venture and am quite pleased with them. I can't be sure, but I think the track (stock) is clipped every 3rd window.

I also use running board mounted scratchers in icy conditions.

About 1200km on them so far, and no sign of any wear.

I'm clipped every third on my apex ltx gt, put on over 2,000 miles last year with little to no wear. I don't buy that the rubber overheats the duponts simply because it's clipped every third, or normal slides would disappear in no time also. The thinking with a track clipped every third is that the snow is retained in the track and cools/lubricates that way.

So your saying you have no ear on the track where the rubber is? also my track clips have the little holes in them that are supposed to retain snow to help cool hyfax better. Not sure how that might impact the Vespel inserts

Dupont sliders

I put them on my 2012 XTX and they work great, much better than stock. My stock wore out around 500 miles and I already have 1000 miles on the duponts with little wear.

dremmick my Freeride is a 1.5in track and has the little holes in clips fully clipped. Stock wheels. No wear to speak of on Duponts last season. Great upgrade!

I have an Ice Ripper XT track fully clipped. Every third clip is smooth and the rest have the small indents to trap snow & dirt. My Dupont slides are holding up very well.
